5th Video: Barney's Beverly Hills + Frederic Malle Lys Mediterranee & L'Eau D'Hiver

Hey guys,

My goal was to show a video of the fragrance selection at Barneys but they didn't allow video taping. Instead, I'll briefly describe something interesting I saw plus give my initial impressions on these two Frederic Malle samples I got. Let me know what you think.

Great video. In fact, today I was myself at a Barney's (Chicago). I ended up buying Le Labo Iris cream and SL Tubereuse Criminelle.

So you've discovered Le Labo's knack for advertising. Mixing them up in store - why would this be good? City exclusives? The best le Labo, to me, are the regular ones anyway. Spray yourself in Patch 24 next time you're there - you will then be able to smell it at leisure over the next three or four days.

Not that Malle is cheap either. Lys is on my to buy list. Eau d'Hiver, if I remember correctly, is a delicate confection of almonds and light flowers like heliotrope (which smells itself almondy and mimosa-like).

I agree, the Le Labo stuff was a bit ridiculous and not for me. I'm happy to see you're on board the Lys fragrance with me. I think its a buy even though its somewhat feminine.

Again nicely done. Love L'Eau D'Hiver and have it. Tried the other at the boutique and thought it was way too feminine for me.

That seems to be the trouble with it. But lord is that sea breeze note fantastic.
