A Man for All Seasons

Thread Starter
What scents do you find are great for any day of the year? That kind of daily wear scent that works whether it is too hot or too cold out, or the temperature indoors is maybe extreme for you? A scent you like to smell in winter and will gladly wear the heck out of in summer? I am curious about both day and night scents, but mainly curious about what scent you seem to care for on any given day that you apply fragrance, regardless of what season guides most of your other scent choices.

From my collection I'd consider these guys as very versatile:

Terre d'Hermes
Grey Vetiver Tom Ford
Ciel Amouage
Infusion d'Homme Prada
Sartorial Penhaligons

and with a light touch:

Great Jones Bond No. 9
Rose 31 Le Labo
Paestum Rose Eau d'Italie
Lyric Man Amouage

All in all I find myself reaching for Green Irish Tweed more on average than any other through out the year.

I would say most aquatic/fresh fragrances would work fine

my favorites:
Guerlain Eau Du Coq
Mugler Cologne
Eau Sauvage by Dior
Kourous Fraicheur
Platinum Egoiste
so on...

I usually wear any of my fragrances year round...with the exception of a couple. New Haarlem tends to be only during the cooler months..it's a little much when it's hot out.

All of them. I don't categorise fragrance by season and go with whatever I feel like, varying application accordingly.

Just to name a few-

Escencia Loewe
Rive Gauche (I have better longevity with this in winter)
Invasion Barbare
Sartorial
Casanova
Gatsby
Charles Street

I think it really comes down to whatever you feel comfortable with. There have been warm days for me when Heritage feels right while other days it just doesn't seem to fit. After a while and after a lot of sampling you'll find what works for you.

Mark Birley for Men, although I find the orange notes tend to be more prominent in warm weather and the violet/metallic notes come to the fore in colder weather.

From my collection :

Terre D'hermes
L'instant de Guerlain EDT
L'eau D'issey
Cool Water

And i'm suspecting Pure Havane would work well all year around , but i haven't tested it in extreme heat yet since i just recently bought it .

Any scent is fair game for all seasons, IMO. That said, out of my collection Terre d'Hermes and Amouage Dia seem to get more year-round use.

Anything in ones wardrobe is fine.

Bleu du Chanel is my most flexible fragrance. Day, night, winter, summer, work, play. It works in every situation.

I try to disassociate myself from picking seasons for fragrances. However there are a few in my collection that get to be "too much" in the heat, even with moderate application. That being said, there are a few that are extra-versatile (meaning I can wear for pretty much any occasion):

Creed Green Irish Tweed
D&G The One
Chanel Allure Homme Sport
Bleu de Chanel
Versace Dreamer
Armani Mania
Aqua Fahrenheit (This one really works all year very well...not too strong in Summer but then again projects well in the cold Winter months)

Fahrenheit dior, my signature scent. I wear it all year, any occasion, day or night. very versatile
