Cheap perfumes that smell pricey almost niche quality? - Page 2

post #61 of 91
Welcome!
Roadster and Eau de Cartier;
L'Instant;
M7;
Coral Flower;
Prada Infusion D'Homme.

I haven't found any that "smell pricey almost niche quality". There are some with a niche aesthetic and I think that's where some of the suggestions are coming from.

Roger & Gallet has a lot of good ones at reasonable prices: Extra Vieille, Vetyver, L'Homme, Open, Lavande Royale, Bouquet Imperiale, for example. R&G soaps are superb. Buy.

Guerlain L'instant Pour Homme Extreme (Edp) is very high quality
post #70 of 91
Bump. I'm interested in more inexpensive/cheap ones. But why have people suggested Chanel and Guerlain and Hermes?... Cheap frags, not mid to high-ish(?) range ones.

Jovan has a decent musk that is cheap. L'Occitane Eau de Baux is a really nice fragrance that is inexpensive.

"Cheap" and "inexpensive" are subjective terms when considering cost. Perhaps "$X/ounce" or "$X/acquisition" would be more helpful to the OP, who can then decide the cost threshold. If so, here are a few that, in my opinion, fit the bill:

Carven Pour Homme - obtained my 3.4 oz EDT spray for less than $20 on ebay (<$6/oz)

Caron Yatagan/Pour Un Homme/Third Man - obtained 4.2 oz EDT sprays of each of these for around $35/each (~$8/oz)

Aramis Devin/Havana/JHL - obtained 3.4 oz EDT sprays of each of these for $25 (~$7/oz), although usual price is about double that

Azzaro Pour Homme - obtained a 3.4 oz EDT spray tester for less than $30 (~$9/oz)

Clubman Special Reserve (don't laugh...it's marvelous juice) - obtained a 6 oz splash for less than $5 (yes, less than $1/oz)

Histoires de Parfums 1725/1740 - these frags ARE niche and bloody expensive *if you purchase the retail bottle* (upwards of $200 for a 4 oz EDP spray); however, you can obtain 2 ml EDP samples of these (and most HdP frags) for $10/6 samples, or $25/oz; while $25/oz is not, in my opinion, "cheap", it represents tremendous value (and HdP 1725 is in my top 10).

Hope this helps!

For everyone arguing that certain frags listed are not cheap: perhaps it would help if you actually set a certain range (think $/ml) instead of attacking people for posting frags that you feel fall beyond your definition of "cheap", as this concept obviously varies from person to person

L'occitane Eau de Baux
post #84 of 91
Bvlgari Black
Fahrenheit
Dior Homme Intense
Kouros

I also agree with Encre Noire, but I find the stuff almost impossible to wear. Probably the least versatile fragrance I've tried.

M7, Roadster, Prada Infusion.

L'Occitane Eau des Baux. $50 for 3.4oz. God, this stuff is great.
Fahrenheit. It isn't priced like a niche but it isn't exactly cheap either. Still, it's excellent.
Bvlgari Black. How did Bvlgari screw up enough to have this become a bargain bin scent? $30 for 2.5oz is a steal.
post #88 of 91
Rive Gauche is the absolute best thing you could get for ten dollars an oz.
post #89 of 91
LIDGE and HM edp
post #90 of 91
Less than $25? Jeez.
Michel Germain - Tattoo

Bump it up $15 more and I can fill an entire notebook page with fragrances.

+1 Rochas Man
+1 YSL Rive Gauche
+1 Bvlgari Black - amazing that it's so cheap

A few others...
Mont Blanc Individuel - it's Creed's Original Santal done better and cheaper
Michael by Michael Kors
Pal Zileri Sartoriale - smells like CdG Wonderwood... some say better
The Body Shop Amber Oud
