hi im new here but i have read much of the posts here and from what i read, I TRUST YOUR SENSE OF SMELL more then mine lol.i recently just got into fragrances and i love the smell of the ocean, sea etc...
which obviously means im in to aquatics but still am puzzled to which is the best.

So out of these 3 AQUATICS below:
Armani - Acqua di gio
Calvin kelvin -eternity aqua
Davidoff - cool water

Which one would you gift to a friend/recommend,which one is the best.
please if you could rate/tell me the experience you had with the cologne's sillage, projection and longevity too.

(p.s im looking to wear the fragrance every other day,im a young adult, and climate here is mostly cold - so i just want a nice smelly fragrance that you can smell sitting next to me and have it stay for a few hours (7+ hours). Popularity of the fragrance is no issue (*hint hint* acqua di gio) since everybody else is using axe/lynx deodorant hence i want a nice cologne.)

Thanks, for bearing with me and suggestions are welcome.

aqua di gio and cool water are both classics. I prefer aqua di gio.

But you know, just go with what you like. Try each of them (one at a time) for a couple of days. You might find you prefer one after awhile. You will also get an idea of longevity (which varies from person to person for a number of reasons including perception)

Can't help you on the longevity/potency of these frags since I haven't worn them in many years, but I don't think you can go wrong with AdG or CW. I prefer AdG, but both are classic crowd pleasers that surely will make you smell nice. Either of those two is a pretty safe purchase.

Might I suggest some things not on your list?

Bvlgari Aqvas are all good IMHO, sample them all and see what suits you. I prefer Aqva Pour Homme Marine but am in the minority, it seems most prefer Aqva Pour Homme.

L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme comes to mind too.

I also prefer the Aqva Pour Homme Marine.
This is a good suggestion if you're looking for some saltiness.
One of the more masculine aquatics on the market.

I wouldn't pick any of those.

Go for Bvlgari Aqua Marine, Kenzo Pour Homme, or Nautica Voyage.

If you do choose to go with ADG might I suggest Perry Ellis 360 red. It's a lot more lenient on the pocket.

Yeah, this is another good option. I know the OP said popularity isn't an issue, but this one is both fairly cheap (under $30 a bottle; I got the gift set last winter for about $26 at TJ Maxx) and it smells different enough from AdG so as to not be immediately recognizable. I still say that either AdG or CW are fine choices, but there are some really good budget colognes out there to choose from.

I personally cannot recommend any from your list.

Some I would recommend are:

Aramis New West for Him
Guy Laroche Horizon

I would try out Chanel Allure Homme Sport

Well I haven't worn it in many many years, but when I bought and used it when it was first released it did just fine on both counts. I can't speak to what it is like now.
