yea in one of the blue sugar threads someone mentioned it

Well, I'll guess it is more similar than Kouros would be, but otherwise you are dealing with sensitivities and note detection, which varies from one person to another. I notice that I can't always detect the same notes, and sometimes one note seems stronger than usual.

Both incredibly sweet, but New Harlem is much more syrupy sweet.

The difference between New Haarlem and Legend is barely discernable. What is different is the price!

to me Legend smells like Rochas man, they both smell a little like New Haarlem though

Found a bottle of Legend for like $7 at the local Ross. On my arm, Legend smells "like" New Haarlem, which is on the other arm, but there's quite a few notes missing. New Haarlem has a sharper, almost burnt coffee note which has a bit of a creamy (creamer?) sweetness behind it whereas Legend is less sharp and is less sweet. To be honest, toe-to-toe, a non-fragrance lover couldn't tell the difference in the top notes and midnotes between the two.

And even though I'm quite the amateur, I can tell some differences in composition and projection, but at the same time... I don't consider this $7 wasted. Not at all. In fact, the sharp/burnt coffee note in New Haarlem has always been a point of issue for me, but I endured waiting on the dry down which I loved moreso than anything else.

I'm only into hour 3 of this, and the development between the two is still rather similar. Rochas Man has always been a bit different for me - stops short on the sweetness, yet comes off as a less "foody" yet approachable gourmand.

I just saw the same thing today. I considered purchasing a bottle as an after-gym scent...maybe I'll head back and purchase it.

Update: Longevity crown definitely belongs to New Haarlem. 4-5 hours, New Haarlem still going strong and now caramel is strong are starting to play their part(s) whereas Legend pulls in a vanilla and creamer vibe and plays way closer to the skin than New Haarlem.

Still not bad for $7 (Legend).

New Harlem is def sharper, more intense, I sprayed both of them, one on each hand and did a comparison, legend smell like a water down of new Haarlem, mj legend have more of a leather smell up top when you first spray it, where NH is a little sweeter, after about an hour, both smell the same to me

Legend has a chemically sharp synthetic opening, but if you can deal with it's shortcomings it's a good alternative. New Haarlem has a screechy synthetic lavender note so in the opening they're even. They have a similar vibe in the dry down, but New Haarlem is an EdP vs a budget priced EdT so the differences should be obvious. I don't care for New Haarlem so for my money Rochas Man is a better buy, but if you really enjoy a breakfast in a bottle type fragrance then buy New Haarlem.

Is Legend very sweet? How much vanilla is in Legend?

Upon trying NH, Legend, and Rochas, I find Legend more like NH. Rochas has the bit of green/lavender I don't find as much in NH. Neither Legend or Rochas possess the maple syrup note in NH, which is what sets NH apart. I do find Rochas is less synthetic than Legend however.

It's sweet, but neither it nor New Haarlem have a vanilla sweetness. It's a tonka bean and amber that makes them sweet. If your looking for a vanilla sweetness I'd go with Rochas Man or the tooth ache sweet Blue Sugar.

Never smelled New Harlem and don't plan to, but I do own MJ Legend and enjoy it quite a bit. I don't think it is overly sweet at all. It is very warm and likeable. Gets me compliments.
