Tom Ford Extreme and Cartier Santos Concentree.

I recived my new bottle Tom Ford Extreme yesterday, and I`m wearing it for the first time today. Great stuff! My only concern is the sillage and longevity. After I sprayed it on I got that same feeling as when I smell Cartier Santos Concentree. They are not similar, but both has that typical strong, ultra-masculine, bold, classical aura. Santos smells a bit hars and "cheap" in the opening, but after 10-12 minutes it`s one of the most elegant fragrances I can think of. Tom Ford Extreme could easily been a part of his Privat Collection. -It`s that good!
- What do you think of these two, and If you had to pick only one, which of them would you choose?

Of the two I'd personally choose the Cartier without hesitation.

Extreme is the better scent

I love and have both, but in a pinch I would keep Extreme, simply because it agrees with me so well, and suits me better. Santos is like a tux I just can't wear that often.

I love TF Extreme fragrance as it has all my favorite notes in one bottle. I noticed that it is very quiet for the first hour after application then it explodes and really starts to project. It lasts longer than you think and has a way of re-appearing many many hours later.

Hmm.. Intresting. Pity it`s so expencive. This must be one of the most expencive "designer" scents. I payed 162 USD for 50ml.

When i used TF Extreme for the first time i thought that it's so quiet and shy...My mistake.

The housekeeper entered the room and said that there is someone smelling good, from about 4m (meters, not miles) away.

Tom Ford dont slaps you in the face, but involves the entire ambient and hug everyone there.

Lucky i found an used bottle and paid less than 90usd shipped, with about 92% remaining.

This thread just made me smile, why? This is one of my blind buys, along with Tobacco Vanille. Olso which one do you like best out of TV and TFE?

I have and love both, but do not find them similar. Both scratch different itches very nicely.

Yes, I agree. They're similar mostly in being very self-assured fragrances, but in much different ways. As you say, different itches.

Man, this thread is making me crave these scents. But please, let me not even think of layering them!!!

Just how bad is the longevity on TFE?

I get about seven hours though it does re appear after that when you least expect it.

I like T-F Extreme best. I bought T-V couple of weeks ago, but realized after a while it was a blunder.. I already own Musc Ravageur, L`air Marocain, and Hermès Ambre Narguile that has the same "aura", but IMO much better. I didn`t get much tobacco. Instead I could smell some kind of medicine mixed with vanilla. I swapped it. T-F extreme on the other hand is just pure sophisticated, masculinity in a bottle. As Jack Hunter said, the sillage is a mystery. I can`t detect it myself, but it`s there for sure, and pops up now and then.

I get about the same here too, well put. One of my favorites is TF Extreme. I have not tried CS yet.
