How similar are FM Musc Ravageur and Chanel Coromandel?

Just got a bottle of Coromandel and now I'm curious if this is really similar to the sexy sexy Musc Ravageur. Thoughts?

I don't get much similarities between the two. Coromandel is basically a patchouli, while Musc Ravageur is a spicy vanilla with a remarkable lavender note.

They are not similar at all. They conjour up very different atmospheres to me and smell very different. Coromandel is a very elegant, sparkling patchouli scent. MR is more of a mature, confident sexy fragrance.

As the others have already said:none at all!! Totally different creatures!

No similarities, you chose well... Coromandel is far superior

No similarities whatsoever.
Coromandel is a patchouli earthy fragrant perfume while MR is a sharp clove and musk concoction.

Just sprayed on a bit of both for comparison. One on each wrist. They do go through moments of smelling very similar indeed but as a whole they aren't really all that alike. They may look alike coming out of the gate for brief moments but they run the race very differently. I own both and, while I do note similarities, they were different enough to warrant purchasing both. Coromandel for it's "clean" patchouli smell (at least to my nose) & Musc Ravageur for it's soft sweet muskiness. Between the two, I personally prefer Musc Ravageur...but that's just me.

I agree - the vaguest, vaguest of hints of one another, but that's it. Acid test for me - I love MR, but don't like Coromandel.

I love them both, but they are different. I can see how they might scratch the same itch for some folks, though.

Not MR but Tom Ford Noir de noir to my nose.

Cmax...

Thanks guys! It's just that I've heard some reviews about them being similar, which judging from the notes, I seem to find impossible, with MR not having any floral note in it and Coromandel being heavy on the patchouli. So I got curious.

Seems like I need to save up for a bottle of MR now.

Le Labo Labdanum 18 is a powdery sister to MR, I think, but Coromandel stands alone. In my opinion, get both,
