Both of these mofo's have pineapple. Both are similarly priced with Aventus being $285 for 4oz and Lapidus being $13.00 for 3.4 oz. I've never smelled Aventus but I'd like to. I own Lapidus and it smells very natural and it's a powerhouse for sure. Which is the better?

I have and like both, but I feel that Aventus is much better.

Do I catch a hint of sarcasm if the original posters premise?

I smell Lapidus once and was like "Thats some wild sh*t!"

There is a little bit of sarcasim when it comes to the price of each, but they are both pinappley frags and I want to know how the powerhouse classic Lapidus stacks up against Creed's newest bad boy.

Aventus...not close IMO.

What I find amusing about Aventus is that a younger friend of mine is a Creed fan. Yet, he despises the bottle of Aventus he purchased and said it flat out sucks.

I haven't smelled it, but I plan on doing so in the near future. He bought it blind because he loves his other Creeds and figured he'd like that one too. I asked him why he dislikes it so much and he just says it smells like %$#@.

No love for Lapidus PH?

I wasn't bashing. I was simply relaying what a Creed fan ( that I know personally ) thinks of it. I'll still sample it and decide from there.

I like Lapidus PH. It's a weird scent though and the fruit note can make enemies. Strong as all get out too.

I much prefer Lapidus PH.

Come now, you know anytime an Aventus thread is opened some can't resist. Happens when anything popular just also happens to be great. It's just not uber to like something that is commonly known, wheather it's good or not.

I don't know Aventus but the Lapidus smells great, has fantastic sillage and longevity and comes in a very original bottle.

Lapidus by a mile.

Lapidus for sure

Look, I can't stand Aventus but even I would have to vote for it over Lapidus Pour Homme which I think is awful.

An improved Lapidus reminding me of Balenciaga pour Homme: One Man Show Gold Edition. Aventus stroke me as a typical úbermenschlich scent from the 1970's, boldish to the nth.

I would seriously pay $285 for a bottle of Lapidus before buying Aventus. I'm not saying Aventus is bad by any means, but Lapidus is IMHO one of the best perfumes ever made.

Lapidus is growing on me more every time I wear it. It's ridiculous how powerful that stuff is. Seriously, it may be the strongest frag in my collection.

For me it's.....
1. Aventus
2. Gio
3. Lapidus
And my Wife will agree!!!

I have Lapidus Pour Homme and I like it so much.
I had a sample of Aventus and I must say ... only the opening smell similar! (but not completely the same)
Pineapple in the opening of both? Yes.
But drydown and base notes are completely different!
Jasmin note in Lapidus is strong in drydown and stronger in base of the fragrance. you can smell jasmin easily.
But in Aventus jasmin note is weak and fades after awhile!
Anyway both are great but around $300 for Aventus ..... I don't think so!

Putting aside the price and just going on the better scent, Lapidus.

Taking into consideration the $250 i can save by going for Lapidus instead, um...

I blind purchased Lapidus. I am very happy to see it in your top 3! I hope this is a nice fragrance I can wear every day.

I smelled Aventus and love it. If Lapidus has the same pineapple it will be a happy day when the mailman delivers my order.

I wish stores sold these fragrances instead of waiting for the mailman.

With so many good reviews I think I will like Lapidus.

I haven't smelled Aventus, but I have smelled Fresco by Ilum Dean, and it is apparently identical to Aventus. I strongly prefer Lapidus.

LOL?! Can you go into some detail? I have no idea why, but you've really got me curious now!

Double-lol.

I gave Lapidus several tries, and didn't like it. Sampled Aventus at Neiman Marcus, and thought it was overrated (so did my wife).
I've concluded that as a rule, I don't care for fruit in my frags, with the exception of some of the citrusy fresh or aquatic scents (like ADG).
I blind bought Lapidus once and it belongs under the sink next to the other cleaners. It's definitely powerful. Takes lots of scrubbing to get it off.
Are these people kidding??! Lapidus and Aventus in the same breath?!!!
Own both, Aventus is definitely way better, however, Lapidus gives me 10+hrs, while Aventus just 5-6...
