The happy medium ???

Hi guys, I have been wondering which perfumes fall into this category... that scent in between the intelligent, layered master piece scent which basenoters will appreciate and the synthetic high street smell which teen girls love...

No doubt you want to impress whilst wearing a perfume but certain amazing perfumes don't always impress non-basenoters. You know what I mean, a random person who doesn't know much about perfume for some odd reason find Paco Rabanne 1 million (which I hate) amazing compared to a great smell like L'instant by Guerlain.

what perfumes are in the middle? they will impress people like this yet perfume lovers wont feel ashamed and degraded when wearing it?

Carbone de Balmain seems to fit in the middle.

I have zero intention of wanting to impress anyone.
If you get over this you'll be able to wear what you like.
It'll be a burden off your shoulders. You'll feel liberated.

Exactly. I find that i dont even care if anyone else can smell me. As long as i can i can smell myself and enjoy it. Also, what are you doing hanging around teen girls.

I'm more concerned with whether I enjoy a particular fragrance ... if others enjoy it also, all well and good; if not, their loss ...

Most Hermes fragrances are not particularly complex nor intellectual yet they don't smell cheap and synthetic

Good call. I feel the same way about Chanel.

Interesting question. I think the person that is truly him/herself outshines all others too.

Wear whatever u love.

Though pleasing people with my fragrance choices is less and less of a concern, as I progress in age

Most Creeds seem to have reached this performance (though there lots of both fragrance experts and regular, non-fragrance loving/occasionally fragrance-loving consumers without such an outstanding opinion about this fragrance house), for quite simple reasons: almost instantly recognizable image and status symbol-value, makes venturing into niche a less intricate, less elitist challenge, consistent quality within some of their creations, thus quality ingredients in spite of some overblown self-marketing etc.

+1 Definately. Its one of best of the mainstream scents. better than your average ADG, cool water and maybe my favorite scent so far.
