They made no showcase of it in the malls here in Dubai.

You guys should see the new Violet Blond stands and promotion.

Wow, I actually thought this could be a "joke" thread. Its seems worth checking out. Hope it finds its way to North America, but I dunno, I think it may just be like Jesus Del Pozo Arabian Nights. Seriously, would it hurt for someone in Spain to ship a few bottles down here ?!

Wood notes are good thing in fragrances, especially ones with pronounced acccords. Hopefully this is decent. Considering Ferrari Uomo got decent reviews, I am optimistic.

Hold your horses boys. Wait until actual shops and online stores carry this fragrance first in North America, then talk about getting it on the cheap.
oud (pure synthetic) is the new amber... LOL
post #8 of 55
cant imagine crowd wearing oud as hell.... they will mess up this note for sure to make it tasteful to then.

If Ferrari garnishes the very nice 2009 Uomo with (even synthetic) oud we may be looking at a hit from this house. The cap is similar to that of Uomo. One can only wish.
No f***ing way!!!! You've got to be kidding me! LOL!
Could be ok if it's a cheapie like the other Ferraris.
Another attempt with the oud note. There are more than enough.

You can already find it at the ebay. That was the way i found it, tottaly by chance - i was searching for creed royal oud and then a ferrari oud essence returned at the search too. At first i thought it was a joke, then i notice it was serious.

I suppose there's a remote possibility that it will be ok.
I just can't understand why manufacturers of expensive/premium cars feel the need to make such cheap and tacky merchandise - especially fragrances.

I guess it is for people who lack the money to buy their cars, and for enthusiasts who want everything Ferrari related.
If they end up making a cheap, but great scent, then our luck I guess. Even though it is quite tacky

I tried this at Harrods on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised on initial sniffing. Longevity seems to be a beast on the scent strip as it's still going strong now.

Thanks for reporting back. Much appreciated. It sounds pricey ( you mention Harrods). I am not sure if it will make its way across the Atlantic.

I really don't get some of the bashing comments here. If I buy a Hugo Boss scent, is it because I can't afford a Hugo Boss coat, so I am just making up for that somehow ?

Cheap and a great scent will make us in good luck ? Thats odd, how often does a great scent come along ? If a bottle is cheap, the most a reasonable person can hope for is an okay scent that does fine.

Yea, I know a guy who got his wife Corvette earrings to wear to their Corvette club. He has Corvette driving shoes. I'm sure he'd wear Corvette Cologne given the chance...

It's £78 for 100ml in Harrods.

I can see this being well liked by many.
I don't see myself using the mini I have any more, except for testing / comparing it.
It's very close to one specific "oud" that is sold -for pennies- in middle east, with less rose and more cedar.

Pricey for me. But not a surprise. No way could this be a blind buy for me. Thanks for the info !

That's for everyone to decide! If you like how it sounds you'll probably like it.
I'll try although I don't believe there's oud there. I liked Scuderia.

I'm looking forward to trying "Adidas Oud Energy Tough Team High Sport". Or maybe "Kenneth Polo Vintage Double Oud Sport Fresh Summer Edition"

I bought a bottle at Harrods yesterday (having decided it was better and less than half the price of Armani Prive Royal Oud) and had it with me at the "An Evening of Leather" event at The New Cavendish Club in London - so was able to try it on a number of noses. Comments covered a "nice" to "gorgeous" spectrum with women tending towards the "gorgeous".

Sounds appealing to me! Thanks!

Looks like it could be worth a try. Will definitely keep my eyes peeled for this.

So does it smell like Tom Ford Oud wood, because the vanilla and rose with the wood sounds interesting.

Why am I so curious?
Ferrari Black and Ferrari Passion were awful. Synthetic as can be with a huge piercing metallic note. I would be nice if they could turn this house around, but in the past all they cared about was the name not the juice inside.
Saw someone doing a split of this on fb. I asked him where he got it but of course got no answer.
This one also smells metallic and cold, almost despite the ingredients.
Did anyone find a full review on this one?
Love their ad copy.

Oud, or Agarwood. From the heartwood of this rare and prestigious tree comes the warm vibrant fragrance that is Ferrari Essence Oud, the new perfume for men. Deep, low, powerful, like the engine sound of a Ferrari car. Only for men with an instinctive feeling for the Prancing Horse.

"Only for men with an instinctive feeling for the Prancing Horse." It sounds like some 18th century euphemism.

That man looks a little prancey in the horses, no?

or

That bad porridge has left me with a feeling for the prancing horse!

You, sir, are a DELIGHT.
To me it starts off as a toned-down Black Aoud, then as it dries down I get a little bit of a YSL M7 vibe from it.

While I don't rank it as one of the best oud-based fragrances, I think Ferrari did a decent job with this. Yes, I agree it is "synthetic" - but no more than Montale. Both sillage and longevity are above average.

It would be a steal if this ever did show up at Marshalls/TJ Maxx.

Went blind on a bottle of this and it arrived today. Gotta say, I am really liking this stuff. It's a dryer scent than I was expecting. Not much sweetness. Jury is still out on longevity but the projection is very good.
Anyone have a U.S. source or somewhere that ships it here yet?

Didn't see anything but samples on EBay so far
post #49 of 55
I kopped a mini of ebay...havent been able to find a bottle...wish I could...I do enjoy it.
I am crying with laughter! OMFG.

So, finally, is it related to Uomo?
I'm especially asking about the leather.
Or, to reformulate: is there a noticeable leather note or is it more in the classic oud vein?
any one else tried this?
I recently tried this one and I was fairly impressed the way Ferrari has handled this fragrance. This resembles M7 in a decent way and longevity is so damn good. But I'd not buy this until it comes on the discount shelves. The price tag is way too high for a Ferrari scent. Here the selling price is around $80 which is very high for a Ferrari. I would have bought this if it was around 30-45.

We're still talking about this and Ferrari has launched another new fragrance called "Essence Musk".

I have and it is great. Oud, incense, sweet rose. Longevity is a beast. What is not to love? Waiting for the 100ml bottle to show up around that $50 range.
Aren't Ferrari fragrances normally around £10 or so?
