FragranceX and the Brazil case ...read!

It´s known the friendly trade between brazilian and worldwide websites, including fragranceX which gives free shipping for brazilians. But in the beginning of september they deliberated started a policy of delayed shipping ,based that as many as 30% of people got into dispute on paypal due to their poor logistics( it takes 2 to 6 months to arrive the package). So they started sendind only after the 45 days of paypal dispute has expire. The only thing... FragranceX did not told that change, and those people who bought 4 months ago thousands of dollars for Christmas gifts, did´n get it. None of ours till september has been delivered yet. Any answer of Fragrancex too. Quite a shame, don´t you think guys?

Incredible rude and very weird!
I live in Norway and have yet to complain about fragrancex.
Maybe it's has to do with my use of credit card there instead of Paypal... But their deliveries always comes fast as.... Normally one week from USA to Norway, and THAT is incredible.
Sadly we have no free shippingto Norway.
But the things you tell about Paypal seems a little weird, at least....

I did not have problems buying at Fragrance X during 2011, all shipments were received in a week. I will take in mind your post for future references, thanks fr sharing.

You do: code "FREE" applies for worldwide shipping, used it many times from Europe.

I am Brazilian and also don't believe in this "45days-Paypal" theory. It would be very dishonest and bad for the site reputation. I never use Paypal when I buy at FragranceX, only my credit card, and I really think FragranceX should not accept Paypal to Brazil, since our postal system is terrible. And should give us the option of paying the shipment, and receive our orders faster. 45 days to receive is bearable, but more than 4 months, like is happening since August is too much, unacceptable! I have made more than 20 orders there, but I am thinking seriously in stop buying there. It is a shame.

If in Argentina arrives in a week, in Brazil it really should not take more than 4 months like now.

I have the expererience of other cheap shipping that arrives in 5-20 days depending the price and the luck. I really can´t believe all the fault is due to our postal service. The fact is only USPS works fine to Brazil, they should offer this service, despite they ground free service.

I know they do a pretty good job to most contries, but they should solve our problem too as we buy a lot there too...

I agree that not all the fault is our postal service's. But in Argentina it arrives in a week! It is not that far from Brazil. I think they use the same route to South America. Here in Brazil, customs + postal service are the great villains. They are very slow in most of the cases. I have a Strawberry.net order in Brazil since mid November and I still did not receive it! It's absurd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But FragranceX can't even answer an e-mail properly. I have just sent one asking if the orders are still passing through Dominican Rep. (I want to make another order, yes I'm crazy) and they responded with the automatic typical answer "Orders from late August -
mid-September have been delayed because of the strike and we are working to
resolve the matter and make sure the packages arrive soon. Routes may vary,
especially when there are strikes and this can cause delays." This is not waht I asked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You´re totally right! And what do they mean with strike? I remember some come with the Dominican Rep. printed package, but i did not knew that when it pass through there things go easier.

Just wanted un update from voidvaider and dani_brasil (possibly other Brazilians) about their fragrancex orders from last year. Have they arrived?

I've placed more than 20 orders (gifts for everybody!) since september 2011 but none of them have arrived. It never took that long for me.. I'm unfortunately kind of hopeless now.
None of my orders since August 31 arrived. Just one person I heard received in February an order from August 27, I think. She had to pay taxes, so I thought it would begin to arrive for everybody, I thought Receita Federal started to release theses orders, but no, only this girl received.
I heard from another girl who bought in January and already received, but I bought almost the same day she did and did not receive anything. Really frustrating!
I wouldn't mind paying LEGAL taxes. Only one or two out of my ~20 orders should be taxed since most of them are under US$50. I just hope Receita Federal believes the [low but real] price stated by fragrancex on the parcel. Otherwise I'll have to pay taxes over unreal [higher] prices, "guessed" by RF.

Do you have any idea what we could do to know WHERE our parcels are? If they have really been shipped, if they have ever arrived in Brazil or if RF is keeping them... If they did arrive in the country and RF did whatever to them we should at least be informed.

Worth mentioning: the "Brazil" code for free shipping doesn't work anymore on fragrancex.

Have you guys seen this? ("Delivery issues")

I tried to place a complaint but the system did not accept anything I typed in the address field. Please tell me if the same happens to you.

Been searching high and low for information on the FragranceX codes, specifically the FREE one that has worked so many times for me, here in the UK.

Basically, it keeps saying that my code is 'not valid for my country' even though on the first page the code is accepted and shows shipping as 0.00. Weird but nonetheless deceitful as I have no intention to pay £15 postage on an item that costs half of that!

Any ideas if the FREE code has been withdrawn for some countries? Or have FragranceX just gone down the pan lately?

I have used 'FREE' and "BRAZIL" codes for free shipping. But they do not work anymore. I think it has to be with these problems we are having here in Brazil. I have 6 orders not received since August 31. I think they may be done something very wrong in the shipping.

Sounds like I won't be using them for a long time. There are better retailers out there to use.

I advise everyone outside of USA not buying from fragrancex. too much hassle, lot of waiting time, terrible customer service, and it's not even worth it.

Thanks saripatates (green potatoes? )

I guess without the free shipping there is just no attraction in ordering from them in the first place. Goodbye FragranceX.

After six months of my order, and few emails i returned to then a email with a automatic filled aswer which sure did not met my questions, and gently put : "i am returning this email because you did not aswer my question" . At the same time i opened a complaint against fragrancex.com at www.bbb.org. Only after this, i could have my money back by refund and it was fast. So, if you have any order from september, don´t wait more... go to the free site bbb.org and open a complaint in the site, do go by redirection do NY site at a moment of the process if they asks you, keep that in mind, an fill manually all the process. Any doubt, send me private message i will prompty try to help you all... I think here in Brazil it was as many as hundreds to thousands of people that lost their money. Many were vendor, that were buying to sell for Christmas other were buying as a christmas gift... It was a shame.... So i recommend for brazilians....don´t buy there at this moment.

Good for you, voidvader, my fellow citizen! I sent you a private message.
I managed to place my complaint on bbb.org. Hope to come here soon to tell you guys everything has been solved.

Curious remark: Fragrancex's homepage now boasts a huge "WE LOVE BRAZIL" sign (web browser recognizes the country I'm in, of course).

I paid shipping since they don't offer free shipping anymore, so I expected them to send my package in a timely manner. Usually packages from the US to Spain take about one week. This took more than a month. And they state the delivery time is 7-12 days! My previous order last summer never arrived and I had to fight for a refund. I definitely am NEVER buying from them again. I, like saripatates, recommend non-US buyers not to buy from them either.

Agreed. I got an enormous customs bill after waiting 6 weeks to receive. Fragrancex put the retail price on the declaration, not the actual price I paid. I am NEVER shopping with them again
