i was at a nearby perfume shop (most of the frags here are vintage) when i accidentally saw this precious bottle "hiding" at the back of Polo Black, it's about 2/3 full (50mL bottle) and i bought it for around $18.. actually, i was looking for the original Polo by Ralph Lauren (green bottle with gold cap)

Got Kenzo Power, Rochas Rochasman and CK Truth in my e-basket at the moment, pondering clicking buy. I'm a newcomer and don't really have alot of scents at the moment, so I really need to build my wardrobe. Both Power and Rochasman are great and different - a bit uncertain about the CK Truth. It's probably one of CK's best, but I'm still vaguely "iffy" about it. Could probably do Cool Water and or Encre Noir as well, but E.N is hard to use correctly for me (too much casual life ) and CW is just ... overused? Hopefully people are starting to forget about CW just about now tho, so the time could be right.

Got my Leather Oud split courtesy of heperd. Thanks, man!

Also, my late Xmas present arrived:

My local Creed Counter had a promotion, bring in an empty Creed Atomizer and they would fill it with any fragrance of my choice. No purchase necessary. I had a red one that i originally had intended to fill with Vintage Tab from my flacon but a free refill was too good to pass up.

I ended up getting 50ml of Royal Oud which is quickly growing on me. It's perfect for the 55 degree weather we are having today. I also got a generous decant of Feuilles Vertes. Which is really nice but Im finding it overly transparent and fleeting (4 hours or so) for the cost.

Vintage Paco Rabanne PH

Just ordered the full set of samples from Parfum d'empire and six samples from Histories de Parfums. I'm determined that Ambre Russe or Ambre 114 will be the amber for me.

Saks Dadeland had that promotion on the 30th. It was a last minute thing and I got a txt from my SA there the same day. I almost wasn't able to make it... Almost.

Today I made a much-needed, pre-birthday designer frag run to Saks. I have been looking for Egoiste forever. It was worn by a guy I had a crush on in England in 1992. It's hard to find as most people only carry Platinum. Then I bought Roadster, my first ever Cartier purchase!

My first purchase for 2012:

Oud Immortel by Byredo

L'instant De Guerlain Extreme.

Need help with posting images guys, can;t figure it out. Cheers
post #36 of 359
rubegon - two very good choices. Mitsouko Eau de Parfum is one of the best versions IMO. Such a 'full' chypre.
Futami - you lucky bastard. Oh and I think your wallet just got happy that you don't like Feuille Verte
lionheart - when's your B'day? And when the hell did Saks start selling Egoiste?
Mike, my dear, on the 5th I'll be 42. ugh. I have no idea about Saks. I've called there any number of times and they always said "only the platinum." I called ahead this time and they said yes. I thought they were just confused, but sure enough, it was there, and what a perfect present for myself! I have not smelled this in almost 20 years. Of course, I had seen it on Chanel's webiste, but hadn't pulled the trigger yet for whatever reason. I sprayed it on my hand tonight, and OH THE SWEET SCENT MEMORY! What a ride! Hope you're well.

Well I'm just speculating here but I reckon the reason mos asks because he has a crush on lionheart and if lionheart were a girl that would be simply awkward for mos. And I think that's a flirtatious giggle not a laugh.

Wow, I'm just getting wind of this. I assure you I am a guy. I don't know why my post struck a nerve, but it is amazing how someone can take a statement of perfect joy and happiness that I described and try to throw a wet blanket on it with insensitivity.

I am a person who went through a very messy coming-out with my family. I am a grateful, recovering alcoholic. I am a recent cancer survivor. I know real suffering and have lived to tell the tale. I have decided to take my joy back from all of those experiences and find contentment, so no worries.

Thanks to hedonist, petrucci, and Randall for sticking up for me.
