Should I get: La Nuit De L'Homme?

Thread Starter
Hi everyone! I've recently ran across La Nuit and was just curious as to what everyone else's exerience with it, was. For a little more info on my self, I'm 20 yes old and am new to colognes.

In my opinion this was somewhat similar to The one by D&G, but most importantly what is everyone else's take on this cologne. I'm looking to spend around 60$, and I really want to get my money's worth.

Do you get compliments with this one? Is it really too sweet? Or is there something way more better I should get. Feedback is much appreciated!

Thanks!

cant go wrong. Its a sweet powdery scent that blows armani code away while D&G the one is a tropical scent that doesnt last

One of my favourites, but then again im a sucker for vanilla, patchouli and vetiver in fragrances, for a 20 year old starting out I would say its an excellent one to get.

Overrated. It is just ok, IMO. Longevity is average and seems to stay close to the skin after about 1 hour, at least that was my experience. I recently returned my 6.7 oz bottle and exchanged it for Chanel Egoiste. Very pleased that I did.

no ... it's a humdrum scent that teeters on the feminine side ...

try Burberry Brit for Men by Burberry - Upon application, one is greeted with a spirited, spicy citrus, furnished by the green mandarin, bergamot, ginger and cardamom. This zesty confluence meanders to its middle, where a spicy wood, from its cedarwood and nutmeg, joins in creating a pleasant, vanillish aura. This melange is slowly infiltrated by the lovely, wild roses, adding a powdery dimension to the heart. As the citrus dies away and the heart's spicy sweetness prevails, it joins the strengthening base, with its grey musk, tonka bean and oriental woods, to enhance the powdery vanilla superimposed on a woody, musky background. This pleasing and complex composition renders a clean and fresh vibe, and has good projection and longevity.

La Nuit is excellent for a 20 year old. I'm 44 and I wore it this evening. It is a compliment getter, and it is a very modern scent. Get it. Beats the others mentioned.

I have had good experiences with it. If you like it, then go for it.

Yes.

Yes, La Nuit De L'Homme will get you laid.... trust me.... young women dig it....
I just bought some and I'm a "mature" fellow. Should work wonders for a guy your age. Doesnt last very well, but I like it.

The Egoiste suggestion above is a good one too. An older scent that would be unconventional (but not "old mannish") on a guy your age.

I tested it at the shopping mall the other day. I'd go for Burberry Brit for a similar scent.

It's a decent addition to any new collection.

Don't buy it. To sweet, cloying, synthetic

+1.

Scent per se is not special, but it gets compliments and it gets noticed. It surprises me it has not become new JPG Le Male, AdG, Joop! PH, 1 million and so on, at least it is not overworn in Croatia.

Not to sweet, besides, quite likely to get compliments
post #20 of 41
I dislike it . I think it's horrible mess of Cardamom and Lavender .

My worst blind buy ever .

The important thing is that YOU like it and yes, it will undoubtedly get compliments.
Personally, it bored the pants off me.

(another plus on the Egoiste suggestion here too)

Another vote for Égoïste.

La Nuit is too sweet for me, but you will get notice when you enter the hall.

Get Egoiste (not Platinum Egoiste). Don't waste any time/money/effort on La Nuit de l'Homme - what an f'ing dud of a fragrance.

Short: Yes

Long: Yes, you should

It's not that versatile but a good one for going out to the clubs/social events.

Please don't: there are already too many stinking creatures on this planet!

Agree on this. But if you need more class and style, I would say probably say La Nuit isnt the best.

I think no.

If you like La Nuit de L'Homme go for regular L'Homme. Better than La Nuit de L'Homme.
A big yes.
It is a great compliment getter from women.
Sweet without being cloying
Excellent projection and good longevity.
Sexy and more sophisticated smelling than what most young guys wear
Not as common as Le Male and some others so you won't smell like everybody else
post #32 of 41
Triple Yes mate, very nice smell
No im female and was sent this instead of the l homme which is more tolerable imho - all i get from la nuit de l homme is a cedar overdose and a headache too powerful only wear it at night imho or elese many will be suffering im def. not a fan of this

Your best bet is to find a Sephora usually inside a JCPenny here in the states and they can give you a decant of it. I have it and think its sweeter then D&G The One. It can be cloying a little if you spray to much so be careful around the neck area. I like it and it gets many compliments and if you go on You Tube it makes most peoples top 5 most complimented. Just be easy on the sprayer.

Absolutely. I'm 20 years old.. and this was my first fragrance purchase.. and since than I have yet to find something to replace it as my go to evening signature scent for a casual night out. If I don't know what to wear, I just immediately grab La Nuit EDT.. it's that versatile.

Yes, it's a little on the sweet side.. but that's what I like. And it fits the college age group very well.
Overrated? Yes. Good fragrance: Yes. I'd buy.
sure, go for it. I have L'homme and semi blind bought La Nuit (briefly sampled it in stores month ago)

Dont buy new on this one. I picked up a 75% full 3.4oz bottle shipped for $30. Plenty of these types of deals around.

And I think it is better than L'homme. Libre is the one I was looking for but is hard to find second hand
post #38 of 41
yes its pretty good, la nuit de l'homme and l'homme are the only ones worth getting from that line
post #39 of 41
Personally, La Nuit is an okay scent for me. Nothing special. Doesn't last long and stays close to skin. I'll just finish my 10mL sample, but will skip the full bottle.

To the OP: if it works on you, then go for it. Have you bought it already? I noticed this thread was started over a month ago, so please let us know.
No, terrible crap. True for everything with "L'homme" in its name from YSL.
Buy it. Nuit has good projection and longevity. Back when I was only buying a couple of fragrances a year this was one of them.
