Santal Noble: Just blind-bought it

Good move, bad move? I've been thinking of blind buying a handful
of niche fragrances recently, including Frapin 1270, LDDM, and Santal Noble
among others. But right now, I could only pick one, so I chose Santal Noble.

I'm a huge sandalwood fan, and I've heard this is one of the best interpretations of sandalwood around.

What are some current thoughts on this fragrance?

Good move IMO. I think it's a great scent.

If you're a huge sandalwood fan, I think you'll be knocked out.

I seem a bit anosmic to it, but it's a fantastic sandalwood scent for sure. I think you'll be impressed.

I blind bought mine last week. Couldnt be happier man, its in my top 10. I am a sandalwood fan and I got knocked out. I hear that vintage is the way to go but im very pleased and could care less about argyle anyways.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I have pretty similar tastes
to all 3 of you, so if you all like it, then I feel pretty good about the purchase

I wish I didn't get the olfactory fatigue that I get with this scent. I really like the scent but I don't enjoy it on my own skin. It is a shame because it is a great fragrance.

I ordered mine through luckyscent earlier tonight, and they have it in stock now: http://www.luckyscent.com/shop/secti...tal_Noble.html

But, in hindsight, I probably should have ordered it off eBay, as there are a few reputable sellers
who are selling it cheaper than luckyscent

fml, LS had me locked into the female scents only. I was wondering what happened to the red bottles.

I love Santal Noble both the vintage and the current. Fragrancenet has this and a lot of the Gantiers for $99 and use this code TSPECP20 for 20% off so you get a bottle for around $80!

I love this one. So sophisticated, so regal. I think these 2 adjectives best describe Santal Noble.
I too like sandalwood and think this, along with Sandalo (Lorenzo Villoresi) and N'Aimez Que Moi will be long term sandalwood staples in my wardrobe.

I think they're trying to tell you something.

Just kidding. They do the same to me, and I imagine everybody, for a number of brands when you select the brand from their drop down brand list. It seems to be an awfully large oversight as who knows how many people look for but can't find a scent that LS actually carries!

YES! I almost went crazy a year ago. I'd been searching for Parfum d'Habit and found the LS link through a google search, I returned later and could not find it when using the drop down menu at the top. LOL

"Regal" is good word for this one. Santal Noble is in my Desert Island Top 10 easily, maybe even Top 5.

I am wearing it today! Haven't in a while. If you like sandalwood you will love this! The drydown smells just like pure sandalwood oil.

+1 Me too.

Love it!

Me too. I also agree with other poster's assesments: sophisticated, regal but butch -> the scent for a real emperor (as opposed to the sock puppets in a constitutional monarchy)

Just an update:

Got this in the mail at lunch. I had already applied
Heritage as my SOTD earlier this morning, but I couldn't
resist trying a few sprays of Santal Noble.

I am very, very pleased so far. My only reservation is that
it sits closer to the skin than I would like.
However, it's the best sandalwood scent I've encountered.

And, I'm happy to report that I do not detect the fig top
note that many people have spoken of in newer formulations.
I do get a bit of a faint coffee/mocha in the top notes,
and I think I can still detect it slightly in the drydown.

Really lovely fragrance, just wish it projected better.
Don't regret this blind buy

A wonderfully rich oriental sandalwood, as much a spices composition as it is about sandalwood. Great stuff.

Its a sneaky projection but it projects IMO.

I agree. I can enter the room where I sprayed it on myself a number of hours earlier and it's flat out dominant.

And I can only add my agreement to all of the positive comments the prior posters have made about this one. It is a masterpiece, IMO.

I really am starting to believe this and havent been this thrilled with a purchase in a long time, and it was blind for me too.

This is a great sandalwood fragrance. I've grown tired of it recently, so it is not in my current rotation. Excellent fragrance all in all. Perfect for formal occasions.

Agree here. As mentioned, I feel kind of anosmic too it, but seeing these comments makes me think it's highly prone to Olfactory Fatigue.

I know when I've worn, my ex GF and another woman I kow told me it was POUNDING and I could barley smell it.

It gets out better than you might think.

Ah, after reading all these wonderful descriptions I'll now have to find a sample and try it.

Bump.

I am wearing a sample of this as my scent of the day but I am very anosmic to the scent. I can only smell it if I bury my nose where I applied the fragrance. I sprayed three sprays and have added another two but I just cannot detect it. It either has zero projection or my nose is numb to the scent.

A shame really as it is a really nice creamy sandalwood frag.
