Need Summer suggestion

Thread Starter
I know it's way to soon, but might as well start early. I am looking for a summer fragrance that combines aquatic/fresh notes, and masculine notes. I want a crisp clean cool aquatic smell(think Chrome) combined with tobacco, leather, and or peppery woods(Dirty English/Bang). I also wouldn't mind something with citrus, and summer booze/tropical fruit(margarita, rum, coconut, banana, pineapple), with tobacco or woods.

So here is the kicker I don't want to spend a ton of money(so no niche), and I want it to be a powerful long lasting fragrance. Thanks in advance guys.

Summer to me is a season for bright, zingy fragrances with bite, and I have a recently purchased Guerlain Homme L'Eau that I think is perfect for summer.

^ I was thinking of that one for myself!

^^hehe and it doesn't seem to be on your wardrobe list yet Like I mentioned, I like the initial bite of this flanker and after a while I get an "airy" vibe from it -- it's there, but not heavy at all (heavy syrupy frags for summer will be the death of me, especially here in Manila). I like it much better than the original. Although it's quite different from Homme and Homme Intense, after a few hours you still get the "...hmm it's definitely a Guerlain" vibe.

You sure are racing ahead. It's icy cold here. I like wearing green tea scents for summer.

Within your price range I came up with Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Barts, Ferre Bergamotto Marino, or Bvlgari Aqua.

Totally agree on this! Although I do like the intense version. But for summer, L'Eau would be sexy

$15 and it smells very good, lasts long, and projects well enough. The best part is that it doesn't smell (as is the case with many "fresh" scents) like laundry detergent, dryer sheets, lysol, lemon pledge or a barrage of chemicals. I'm highly sensitive to chemicals, plus I'm picky. That makes finding fragrances and I enjoy AND can tolerate difficult.

Aqua Quorum is crisp, herbal, slightly woody (rosewood). The only downside is that it doesn't smell original, at least in the beginning. It is similar to Polo Sport and Eternity, but better than both IMO. This is the only "fresh/aquatic" scent I actually like, despite having tried Chrome, Voyage, 360 Red, CK One, Cool Water, Light Blue, and the rest of the designer aquatic gang. However, I wouldn't consider it powerful. I think it's strength is perfect for what it is suited for.

For a cheapie, check out Izod. It opens with an aquatic accord of lime, tangerine, & cucumber followed by a cotton accord in the middle, and finally a base of tobacco flower, saffron & light incense. It's a far better fragrance than the price suggests and the clean cotton notes & the tobacco/incense/saffron base mixed with the very fresh lime top notes make it really unique and interesting. For the price, this is a definite summer blind buy recommendation as far as I'm concerned.
