New Fragrance: Dolce and Gabbana The One Sport

More signs of the upcoming apocalypse.....

From fragrantica.com:

After the original The One for Men from 2008 and The One Gentlemen from 2010, Dolce Gabbana launches the third fragrance from The One masculine line, lighter and fresher The One Sport. As its name suggests, The One Sport is designed for active sportsmen and dynamic "modern gladiators" who enjoy unrestrained freedom and the excitement of outdoor activities. This fragrance also represents the first sporty fragrance of the house.

Stefano Gabanna described the inspiration for this creation to the wwd magazine: We have friends that go to the gym. They are each very different from one another, but they all enjoy going to the gym for themselves, to feel good about themselves. As the Latins said, Mens sana in corpore sano (or a sound mind in a healthy body, in English).

The composition retains some characteristics of the original, refreshed by aromatic and aquatic tones that give a certain dynamics to the fragrance. It opens with aquatic notes and rosemary, combined with the heart of cardamom and Sequoia wood. Patchouli and musk form the base.

Top notes: aquatic notes, rosemary
Heart: cardamom, sequoia
Base: patchouli, musk

I'm looking forward to comparing this with Bleu Chanel. LOL

They had me there. Just in time for the Olympics.

I honestly love The One Gentleman, and cardamom is always a great note on my skin, so I have to admit I'm kind of looking forward to trying this.
Another fresh sport fragrance??? totally previsible in the actual market. We´ll see soon a Chergui Sport or something like that. I´m tired of this scents.
Stupid marketing on Dolces part. Make an extreme version of "the one" and it would sell like hotcakes.
Curious about this one. The One was good IMO, but the word 'Sport' makes me apprehensive.

Looks too much like Dior Homme Sport
Pass on this one.

99% chance of suckage...
When do we actually get to see an original release again? I think Gucci Guilty was one of the only original launches by a designer house last year and it was atrocious. I'm not saying that this fragrance will be bad by any means, but I would like to see an actual fragrance launch.
Lost count of the number of recent "sport" releases....

Armani Code Sport, Issey Miyake d' Issey Sport.... blah, blah, blah.

Will never buy any "sport" fragrances.
And next will be Boss Bottled Sport in spring
post #17 of 94
euro's comming so there will be a lot of sport this year!

Your forgetting the entirely forgettable Star USA launched by John Varvatos.

Just making fun. Love the original but stays too close to the skin.

My hopes of By Man getting relaunched are dead.
So sporty, it's faster at fading to nothing than The One, and the weak old The One Gentleman! Gone in 60 seconds!

Just splash out on some Frapin - 1270. Similar (yet far superior) top notes, but develops into a boozy, warm and coziness, that lasts all day instead of an hour tops! The One's really nice, but just doesn't last.
I want an ORIGINAL release. I want a fragrance that lasts at least 6 hours and radiates decently. I don't want it to be clean and sporty.

Try these. They should get you back to the correct timeframe to find a good fragrance release.

I actually have no idea who that is, but maybe it is a better alternative to watching Mad Max

You guys are HI-LARIOUS!! I'm so disappointed by D&G. Their first 3 masculines were actually really good (D&G Masculine wasn't that ground breaking actually). But this crap has gone on too long. Is it that much more expensive to make a fragrance with some actual TEETH. Something that has bite, eg. M7??? I just don't understand why everything produced has to be so understated or be a freakin' SPORT fragrance! Ahhhh! Its quite aggravating after a while. I would pay full retail price for something designer with guts. I bought MiP blind for that very reason. C'mon designers! Show me something!!!

On another note, I tried Attimo Pour Homme by Ferragamo in the ATL airport and it was quite nice. It didn't project much so no luck there but as an office friendly scent, its one of the best aromas I've smelt this year. A unique take on a citrus, oriental fougere. Longevity was also quite typical. I'd add it to the list of very original releases this year.
So we will see a fragrance from The One line that even yourself can't smell it after spraying it!
Original the one and the one gentleman are terrible in projection and also longevity! add some fresh and aquatic notes and you will have a crystal clear water! :d
Great for hot summer days when you are thirsty! lol

You may be right. That sure looks like a mushroom cloud to me.

And the product placement of the word sport? Dare I say, "classic"!

If it makes my torso look half as good as that Ill buy gallons lol.
sure hope the projection and longevity is improved ... well it's easy when the original had none ...

lulz! But if it is toxic waste, then it might actually do it... Or make one grow extra asses on the back, South Park style

I'm patiently waiting for Dolce & Gabbana The One BLACK

Well spring is here in 2 months, so I guess that's why they create this, but seriously...

This is very very unnecessary. A lighter version of the original The One is hardly what people want.
Wow could they possibly make this fragrance any lighter ????
I love the original and Gentleman but they seriously do not last more than 2 hours on my skin! I'll try this at Macy's when I see it just because I'm curious about it.
You guys are killing me. LOL
We need Tom Ford.
It appears the sport the model excels best at is shaving every last body hair off of himself. You can't enjoy unrestrained freedom and excitement if you have to run home to shave every time a small hair appears somewhere on your chest.

But the biggest laugh of all with this obvious waste of time was the complete idiocy of the throwaway quote:

“We have friends that go to the gym. They are each very different from one another, but they all enjoy going to the gym for themselves, to feel good about themselves. As the Latins said, ‘Mens sana in corpore sano (or a sound mind in a healthy body, in English).’ ”

Uh huh, and what does that have to do with spraying on this lightweight in a crowd of people who are probably drowning themselves in whatever "sports fragrance" the local mall is pushing. I just don't know how "Sport" is going to compete against the guy next to you that drenched himself in Axe or Adidas Whatever.

And I thought the reason most people went to the gym was to exercise. How dumb of me.
This is almost as ridiculous as new Angel Aqua Chic and Alien Aqua Chic... Only thing that we need now is A*Men Sport, Aqua Men and Acqua Di Gio Sport

this response had me in stitches. Tou-fuckin-che.

Regardless of what has been mentioned, I want to smell this. I know D&G have longevity issues, but what they do produce (usually) smells great.

By the way, do you think the company give a shit about longevity issues? Many agree that The One smells nice, but only perfume heads discuss issues such as projection and longevity. If the vast majority buy the product for the 5mins of pleasure it brings and don't complain, then D&G won't care to make an improved The One. Maybe they have tried, but a reformulation changed the scent, so decided to work on a a sport version instead.
Should we send them a letter? LOL

This smells nothing like Acqua di gio but it is nice (just nice. i found it generic). But.... just like the one original, the projection and longevity is poor.

i sprayed it on at a department store and was talking to the shop assistant about fragrances, by the time we finished talking (about 15mins probably a lot less) the smell had gone.
Local Macy's said they weren't getting it and that a lot of people have been asking about it today.
