FAKE Vintage Fahrenheit from eBay Germany

Hi guys,
Just want to share with you my bad experience with eBay seller, who sold
two items of 100 ml Original Fahrenheit ( yellow, blue and red box)
Both items are 100% fake.
Smells like the water with the soap.
Boxes are well made but the bottles and text written on the boxes are terrible.
Juice is not smooth, some garbage in the bottle I can see without any doubts.
Seller name is ********
I suspect that seller also was not aware that he is selling fake...
But, anyway, take care and avoid this items on eBay.
Photos of bottles to follow.

I certainly hope you gave the seller the opportunity to rectify the problem, esp. if you suspect he was unaware they were fakes.

Hopefully you will be able to return it and be reimbursed.

Not sure, i have already left the positive feedback right after I received the items on post office.
Both of them were packed and sealed so I put them on the shelf - wanted to delay the joy of opening long waited stuff.
This evening I opened first one and was shocked.
Not a big deal - 116 euro for both, but I was hunting this original version long time.
Even if he will not reimburse it I'll not loose my faith in human being...

Question for Basenoters - is this the original Fahrenheit (the one before the reformulation?)

No, this is the last one before the last refolmulation.
The new one comes without eue de toillete below the Fahrenheit.
This is good One, not new, but not a original.
First one, originals was splash.
I have bottle of it and batch code sayS it was produced in 1987...

Go ahead and post the photos, if you please. Definitely interested in seeing what it looks like.

There are some juices that go weak with time. I expect that Fahrenheit ain't one of them.

As promised below the photos of fake Fahrenheit i get from eBay

1. Boxes looks very real and i did not find any hints that its fake inside

2. Cap of the bottle - you can see how roughly it manufactured

3. Two fake bottles - look at the color of the glass and the letters / printing quality

4. Spray system

5. bottoms of the bottles (note the batch code )

When I was visiting Turkey years ago I wondered why these guys offer obvious fakes of generic logo-ware, e/g "Dior", "Armani". It was so easy to differentiate such offers from valuable stuff. Even if it were real I wouldn't buy it - to bad.

May be the seller here has got such tourist rip offs via dismal channels to resell them over ebay. Particularly with splash bottles I had bad experiences too. Filled up, hence diluted perfume concentrations, wrong content.

I am sure that seller is responsible for items he is selling.
This is the law!

So, seller proposed me to send him two fake bottles back and he will reimburse my purchase.
The tricky thing is if i send it back - how could i prove that it were fake bottles if he we'll not return the funds me back

That could come out bothersome, You're right. On the other hand, people often try to deal the returned items again. Regardless of them being questionable at least. Depending on Your conscience You could promise not to give a negative feedback - I ever again broke a promise like that, though.

Given the fact that i've already left positive feedback (yes i am idiot, i did not opened the boxes at arrival) i can rely only on seller' honor...
Actually its all about his reputation now - he is saying that he bought both bottles in France in normal store....
This is very and very strange - if you go to the checkcosmetics web site and input the batch code number, it shows that one of this frags produced in 2012 year.
may be something wrong with this web site, but the photos i have posted are evidently shows that these are fake frags.
i will not die for 116 euro, the most important thing is to warn other basenoters and avoid the same things with this seller in the future.

Sorry to hear about this. With ebay/paypal you do have some recourse. If you contact eBay/Paypal and let them know that you received counterfeit products and they will more than likely side in your favor.

Thank you!
I'll wait the seller response first, he could be fooled as well by somebody.
if there will be no solution I will proceed with paypal and ebay protection.
its my first time

may be something wrong with this web site, ...

FWIW, I checked the codes on a similar site (cosmeticswizard.net) & got the following:
7B01: 2007-2 (checkcosmetics confirmed Feb 2007)
2K02: 2002-10 (checkcosmetics did show as Oct 2012, which of course can't be right)

Hmmm, the plot thickens...

I have a bottle a long time ago, the code on the bottom is 5A01, is this before the reformulationIt smells a lot warmer and smoother than the one i tried in the store the other day.

So i guess concensus is we all should not buy any fragrances from items in Germany?

Too bad I haven't read this thread earlier, I too got screwed by an eBayer who sold me the 2K02 bottle a few weeks ago. And the 7B01 bottle is up on eBay right now, but I won't touch it now I know that this is also a fake.

I once had to take a case like that to eBay/PayPal and they demanded a written statement from DIOR that the perfume I received was a fake. So I sent the whole thing to France and I got the confirmation just in time to show it to eBay, and they promptly refunded me. I hope the seller will get into serious trouble!

Forget cosmeticswizard and checkcosmetics. If you take the whole bottle and box design into account, the bottles are supposed to be from 1997 (7B01) and 2002 (2K02). If they were real, that is. Which they are obviously not. Another hint is that the batch codes in 1997 were still five digit codes, and were writen in white/silver (not black) on the bottom of the bottle. They changed to black in the year 2000.
