Hey gang, I saw this on the perfumania.com website. There's very little information about it other than the info provided by the French Connection website. Here's a link:

http://fcukfragrance.com/products/fcuk-friction-him

Notes: mandarin, green fruits, fresh lavender, black coconut, geranium, marine, cardamom, rum accord, sensual amber, leather, patchouli, magnetic musk.

I'm gonna check this out at my local Perfumania soon if no one else has tried it.

I've never seen a black coconut...

I would never buy a fragrance from a company named FCUK. on principle alone.

I'm assuming you do know that means French Connection (United Kingdom), right? The acronym is more for shock advertising.

HAHAHAHA... they want way too much million$ to squeeze out of this catchy but forgettable concept!
That's what I'd call mis-marketing! "Friction" should NOT have been HIS or HER, it should have been a SHARED fragrance.
FCUK they'd better fire their creative director!
Me not buying.

Regards, Odor.

should have named it Friction?K-Y by FCUK and made it unisex ...

Very mediocre when I smelled it. Regardless of shock advertising, FCUK doesn't pique my interest.

Of course I do. That's why I don't like the brand much. But I'm a middle-aged guy, so I'm not part of the target market anyway.

I've noticed Sears is selling a lot of FCUK clothes and accessories now. Wonder if they might carry the new fragrance? Anyway, wasn't FCUK kinda considered an upscale brand about 10 years ago? Seems like they have really fallen down the rung of designers if they are selling in Sears now.

I finally smelled this one...Man, I'm so disappointed. I really (not sure why) expected something at least slightly unique. This thing smells like a remake of Platinum Egoiste + Eau de Grey Flannel. More creamy than PE but less synthetic than EdGF. Pass for me...

I don't write off any houses or frags based on there names, after all, I'll be the first to tell ya, there are some amazing cheapies out there, like Eau Maximum, Cigar, Zirh Ikon, Corduroy, etc.. I could go on and on. However, the 2 FCUK frags I have tried were both just god awful. Horrible composition, lack of balance, horrible in smell, longevity, projection, and any other category. The perfumer(s) behind these frags need to find another hobby, because fragrance making isn't for them. And no, I doubt it's the budget, because like I said, I have come across some amazing cheapies, which I'm sure had a lower budget than FCUK, which is actually a pretty popular designer clothing brand amongst young business professionals, and especially in the UK. I'm sure they have the money, since it's pretty well marketed.

My take:

mandarin: Yes, the same bitter orange in every other men's fragrance these days.
green fruits: Maybe green banana, but it brings nothing to the table.
fresh lavender: it's buried under the a truckload of citrus.
black coconut: racists... no, seriously -- in your dreams FCUK.
geranium: crushed leaf, maybe, but it does nothing for the ensemble either.
marine: yes, it's there after you throw the bottle into the sea.
cardamom: no it is not there.
rum accord: There is a boozy quality to this, so I guess this is it.
sensual amber: SVU amber... it's there but you have to get over the citrus assault to smell it.
leather: meh
patchouli: meh meh
magnetic musk: pipe dream

This was $17 for 100ml at Marshalls. You've smelled all this from Calvin, Polo, and whatever Sears is selling one million times before. I'd almost rather have FCUK release one note scents instead of this mish-mosh. It's just so boring, and I swear I will firebomb whoever decided that men prefer to smell like bitter oranges. Not sexy. Not appropriate. Not worth it.
