Hi Guys, thinking of buying a cologne. Help me choose.....
Where i stay is like summer all year long. So longevity is an issue.

Lets start we pros and cons of L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme vs Chrome Azzaro.

I don't find the smell of Azzaro Chrome too pleasant. In addition, L'Eau D'Issey has immaculate longevity for an aquatic-y type fragrance.

Either one would be fine IMO.
both smell okay and lasts long. I prefer issey

Neither are appealing, IMO. L'eau d'Issey pour Homme is one of the worst I have smelled (although it does have superb longevity), and Chrome is kind of "bleh."

Some alternate fresh scents with above average longevity I can recommend for your situation include Cologne du Parfumeur by Guerlain, The Jewel of Micallef for Him, Stardust for Men by Llewellyn... and on the low end of the price spectrum Bellagio for Men.

Gooooooood, your hate has made you powerful

Issey gives me headache (one of the few fragrances that has this effect on me).
Azzaro smells clean, but synthetic.

I wouldnt choose either, there are better alternatives for summer.

Chrome is the slightly more complex and versatile of this two, also the longevity is a bit better

L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chrome Azzaro

Chrome longevity is absent in me. L'Eau D'Issey have excellent longevity and lasting, but have the smell of an essence used in sauna. @Norstrom, lol!

Issey Miyake hands down

L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme ... the top notes burst forth with an invigorating, yet perplexing, citrus; then the heart revels itself in a floral and spicy concoction; and the soothing, yet oriental, woody base rears its lovely presence ... excellent sillage and longevity ... its originality makes for a somewhat futuristic journey ...

L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme by a long distance. It is more natural smelling than chrome and yes it lasts a long time plus its a hit with the ladies.

Chrome is way too metallic and harsh. Chrome sport is much much better, it's a great green gingery aquatic scent with above average longevity and moderate sillage.

Exactly that. Chrome smells like sheet metal with lime juice squeezed over it, and conjures thoughts of middle-aged executives. I think L'Eau D'Issey is one of the best designer fragrances in that category and is definitely a few cuts above Chrome.

I'd go with L'Eau D'Issey over Chrome personally, but they both have incredible longevity for aquatic fragrances so you can't really go wrong here.

For my warm/summer weather actually helps longevity. In the Winter or colder weather, I have to wear stronger fragrances or spray more to have the fragrance last. So I don't think you will have major issues of longevity if you live in a warmer area.

I would go for Chrome if I had to pick between those two. I don't really like Issey. Issey should last longer though.

I would also recommend Nautica Voyage if you are looking for a cheap aquatic.

One can't complain about the longevity of L'Eau and I feel it is more marine then Chrome which to me is rip off of Ck One

On the other hand Chrome Legend is not bad for it is Chrome base with added notes..very strong scent..a little goes a long way.

Both are good for summer..but I prefer Issey Miyake house, ecspecially its summer limited edition
post #26 of 35
Chrome. It is cheaper.

L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme...
You need to test them on your skin. Chrome, on me, smells terrible.
I've owned and used both Chrome and L'Eau de Issey pre-BN, and I prefer the latter. It smelled nice to my amateur nose, had great longevity, with powerful sillage. I thought Chrome was weak, but a co-worker actually noticed it when I thought it was no longer projecting.
Go with Issey Miyake. The longevity and projection is much better, also is very good with compliments.
Chrome always got me noticed and complimented. L'eau d'Issey never. However I find Issey more pleasant, refined and overall a better fragrance.
If I'd have to choose between these two I'd get L'eau , it's the better scent overall , although Chrome is a lot cheaper.
Chrome may be rather linear and synthetic, but I still think it smells a hell of a lot better than L'eau D'Issey.

So my vote goes to Chrome.
Having smelled Chrome now I have to revise my choice and pick Issey.
I'm sorry, but I can not stand either of those
L'Eau D'Issey smells strange to me, very unpleasant
Chrome smells far too metallic

Of the two, I would have to go with L'Eau D'Issey, since I can actually...somewhat stand it

Have you considered Bleu De Chanel, or possibly PE 360 Red (AdG knockoff)?
I also like Hanae Mori HM (I didn't like it at first, but it grew on to me)
