How are new batches of Millesime Imperial? - Page 2

Thats what it is with Creeds, there not consistent. This is not right, when your paying these high prices for them.
Recently received a 2011 batch from fragrancex, it's very nice. Don't know about fragrancenet.

What size was it?
I'm pretty happy with my 2010 batch. It has a nice melon note and the salt note isn't too overpowering. It projects nicely for 1.5 hours and then disappears by the 4th hour. If not for longevity, this would be one of my faves.
Love 2011. As far as longevity, the past few days I've been able to distinctly smell the melon even after six hours.

Someone should do a split

4oz. I know you prefer the smaller size Oupavoc, but I go through this stuff like water in the summer.

I'm a bit curious on the 2011 Longevity etc, especially since GIT seems to have been "Corrected" amped up and given the Aventus treatment.
MI lasts 8-10 hours on me. 2010 or 2011, it doesn't matter.

Interesting, I need to revisit this one for the summer!
Yeah. It's an awesome summer fragrance alongside VIW...hmmmm coconuts

I'm thinking about the same. I can smell it for more than six, and expect that, without olfactory fatigue, I'd smell it another two hours. I have definitely had people comment on it long after I stopped smelling anything.

...as boring as usual...!

How does VIW last for you? I picked up a bottle of Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Bart's since a few have compared the two (and TB is only $20 at Marshalls). But there's no coconut in St. Barts unfortunately. Still good for the price.

Well on my skin 8+hrs. When I make up in the morning I still smell hints of it on my hand. I love this fragrance, I would only wear it in the summer. I cant get enough of the coconut, lime and rum notes. They are to die for

I just realised i need like an ml of MI for it to project rather 'normally'. Nice scent and I feelthat its really really comforting to just wear it. But the projection and longevity just makes me wonder if I should get GIT over this. Arghhhh

I know coconut isn't listed in the note pyramid for Set Sail St. Barts but I swear I can smell it in there lurking underneath the tequila and lime.

Just wanted to quickly report back, just got my MI 4oz in the mail today from fragrancenet. It's great, much better than the sample I got, and I definitely get melon. The batch number I got was a3311u01. Also, I'd like to say the cap stays on real good unlike my GIT.
I have this batch ^^^. Great batch. Pumped to wear it this summer!

I came across an old thread initiated by JamieB regarding the millésime concept and the issue of batch variation.

http://www.basenotes.net/threads/206...3%A9simes-quot

Has anyone found out if Creed is really sticking to this explanation for the batch variations?
I tried a demo of MI for the first time in a while from Holt Renfrew (didn't check the batch number), and thought it was pretty impressive in terms of longevity and silage, gave me about 6-7 hours, which on my skin with this kind of fragrance is close to a record.

... I just didn't like the fragrance that much, I can't figure it out, maybe the saltiness?

Just ordered a 2.5 ounce tester of MI for $81.25, wow, great price considering! Hope it is this batch, more melon, less saltiness and great longevity.

Thats not bad, how many sprays?
Honestly stay away from batch A3311x02, I tried it at Neiman Marcus and it basically all Salt. The batch that I love from 2011 is A3311N01. It has pretty good longevity and you get the fresh watermelon note at the top. Overall it's very well balanced..

Just one to the wrist, I just sprayed it there to get a gauge of if I liked it.

I was generously given a decant of MI from a person who I did a transaction with before. It is a newer batch, and I'm really a huge fan of the fragrance. An incredibly lush melon note - fantastic. Unfortunately Longevity and Sillage are not exactly up to snuff on this first demo of it, but overall still great and I can't wait to wear it more.

I now have decants of 2010 and 2011 batches. Pretty much the same.

Wow, bad news. I was hoping they were out of 2010 already. Do they charge you for returns?
I am waiting on my order from fragrancenet also, but GMAN, a few posts above, says he thought decants from 2010 and 2011 were identical.

I just hope it is the more melon, less salt, 6 to 8 hour or more longevity one.
Also anxiously awaiting an order from fragrancenet (2.5oz tester). Hoping they didn't suddenly discover some extra boxes of 2010 batches they had lying around. Hmmm...maybe that's why the price was so good. The single 2010 batch I've tried before was a little too salty for my liking.

they're pretty good about returns, if you call them up I'm pretty sure they'll send you an email with a return shipping label

I have a decant from 2010 and a full bottle of 2011 and the 2011 is definitely better to my nose, stronger at least, and just more pleasing.

2.5 or 4.0?

You might be disappointed returning and waiting for a 2011, then realizing it smells just like 2010. I did a blind test of this and I couldn't tell. I'm a pretty picky person too.

Same thing with Aventus. 2010 and 2011 ones I have smell the same. Both 2.5 oz bottles.

I clearly can tell the difference between a 2009 and 2010/2011 MI though. And between a 2008 and 2010 GIT.

Thankfully they didn't, the lady on the phone was nice enough to give me a pre paid shipping label. Maybe because I was just exchanging?
Yeah, the lady on the phone was pretty nice, she gave me a prepaid shipping label.. Maybe because I was only exchanging it?
I was originally going to request a 2011 batch (maybe a3311u01 or a3311n01?) but is there any year or batch that you guys would suggest?

I bought a 4oz btw..

I'm pretty sure I can smell the difference between my sample and the bottle, though I'm not sure what batch my sample came from. The batch that I got was a3310b03, the same batch that spawned this thread : http://www.basenotes.net/threads/283...f-MI-Bad-batch

That's great. Can't beat that service. Maybe explain to them how to identify a 2011.

Received my 120 ml / 4 fl. oz from Fragrancex.com - batch number A3311U02.

I'm hit by a great melon note mixed with some salt, but not alot. I'm unsure about the longevity yet - Norway is still pretty damn cold this time of year, so it's kinda hard to predict the longevity right now. My skin is also probably a bit too dry to totally trust this, but I'm tempted to claim somewhere between 4-6 hours at the moment in cold weather with dry skin.

The batch is great though, and the price from fragx is pretty nice. Picked up their last Zesty mandarine pomple as well - 2008 batch O_o! Smells awesome.

MI for me is probably a bit ... smooth and possibly feminine, but It's really growing on me, and I plan to use it alot as the weather heats up.

my bottle 2.5 ounce tester from fragrancenet came today. bright melon note. c3311no1 is what is on it, not the a prefix.
will wear it tomorrow and if it lasts at least 8 hours, gonna call fragrencenet and order another bottle

I recently received the exact same size and batch number of MI from fragrancex that you got. I have to say my bottle is pretty horrible. I get a lot of salt seconds after initial spray and the melon note is very weak compared to samples that I have. Definitely going to return this one. Looks like you got lucky!

Also received a 2.5 oz tester from fragrancenet yesterday. Same batch number (c3311no1). Very happy after a full wear today. Much more melon than salt. Better than the unknown sample I have too. Longevity has been acceptable for both on me...a good 6-8 hours.

On the side, this was my first order from fragrancenet to Canada. Do they have a Canadian warehouse? One label has Mississauga as the origin. The other says NY. It didn't go through customs.
I ordered an 8.4 oz flacon of MI a few days ago from Fragrancenet and they just cancelled my order today for it being out of stock. I think they don't have good inventory management over there and that's why they take so long to ship at times.

It must've went through customs at Pearson intl (in Mississauga) hence the label. What is strange is when I order from fragrancex there is a label originating in Markham.

Just to drudge this old(ish) thread back up, I have received my 2.5oz. tester today from fragrancenet. Same batch. I am also very pleased.

I got my 2011 batch from fragrancenet in April and gave it a full wearing this week. Spring has only just arrived here and it went really well with the hot and humid conditions. I intend to take my 4oz bottle with me on holiday. I'm in love with this scent and find it really suits my skin's chemistry well.
Reviving this thread. Anyone tried any 2012 batches? Also has anyone ordered from Fragranceshop.com recently?
I'm going to ask the same question as the bump. Anyone tried any of the 2012 batches of this? And if anyone has picked them up from Fragrancenet, what batches are they shipping out?
I ordered a new bottle from Fragranceshop yesterday. It'll take a while to arrive in the UK but when it does I'll report back.

The samples I have of a couple of 2012 batches are very strong. Perfect combo of fresh melon and salt water.
Received a bottle from a 2011 batch about a year ago. Nice melon vibe. Ordered from Fragrancenet.
Never cared for MI. I think it's the salt note that turns me off. I can appreciate it though.

Yeah the guys with 2012-2013 batches let us know how you like. Especially those that got it from Fragrancenet, cause in a few months that's where I am hoping to get mine from.

Same. I'm contemplating snagging a bottle from Fragrancenet before I head back to Japan, as my wardrobe is lacking a bit for spring and summer.

If I hear good things about their current batches that is...
So what are your guys opinions on the 2012 batches?

Imma keep bumping this, summer is around the corner and I'm pretty set on this one.
