From nstperfume.com:

Hugo Boss will launch Boss Bottled Sport, a new fragrance for men, in March. Boss Bottled Sport is a flanker to 1998′s Boss Bottled, and is fronted by British Formula 1 driver Jenson Button.

The notes include grapefruit, cardamom, lavender and vetiver.

Hugo Boss Bottled Sport will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and matching grooming products.

I'll give it a try, Boss Bottled is not bad at all.

Who knows, they may have been trying to perfect this fragrance for the past 13-14 years!

:-)

+1. Maybe it will be super sporty!
SPORTS again omg, I really hope they didn't ruin a perfectly great scent (Boss Bottled)!!!
regular boss bottle was great. never tried night
post #10 of 76
The original is quite sporty and summery as it is , ill be passing on this one.
Uh-oh.
The bottle design would appear to be "inspired" by Allure Homme Sport.

It is somewhat appealing to my faint OCD but what's with writting "Sport" in red? Dior, Chanel, Gucci, Armani and now Hugo??
NEEDS MORE SPORT!

I've kinda grown tired of Boss and their lineup. I still like some of their fragrances, but it's getting kinda old with all the pretty similar scents.

My nose is drawn elsewhere, but I suspect I'm just turning kinda snobby :/ Note to self - sample some good old Boss frags for longevity later this week / month
post #14 of 76
oh boy another sport what else is new..... boss bottled is the only good boss frag in my eyes, night wasnt that great but better than some other boss frags, i like how they are copying chanel AHS with the colours aha

I don't think your snobby, I just think the Boss fragrances are generally quite poor these days, same can be said for Ralph Lauren and CK etc. With these brands it really seems like the focus is on the marketing behind the product, rather than the product itself.
I was lucky enough to try this about 2 weeks ago during a trial thing at Macy's. A platonic girl friend of mine who works there allowed me to sample it. They are supposed to be pushing this and The One Sport really hard in the next couple months.

As for the fragrance itself, it's not bad. Mostly citrus, with a light vetiver note in the background. Linear, the vetiver is almost hard to detect, and smells more like lemon grass, but it's there. It reminded me of Eau Maximum by Nickel quite a bit. Not bad, but not great. I'll stick with Eau Maximum for 8 bucks a bottle.

You're correct f88.....It's all about spring/summer.....Gary

I have probably missed some good ones over the years but I don't own a bottle of anything that has "Sport" in the name. I have tried many but haven't found any that I would buy.
Love it, everytime thay use sport in the fragrance name I save money knowing it's a waste of time and money to sample.

+1. I think the only "sport" fragrance I ever could stand was the long since discontinued Sport de Paco Rabanne.
There they go, ruining their only half decent scent.

You obviously haven't tried 1987's Boss Sport.

Afraid I have not. Is it good?
I think it's great. Very green vegetal and pretty dry, with a big musk in the drydown. Totally unlike any other Boss frags I have come across -- much more natural. It has the best, most up-front marigold aka tagetes note of any masculine fragrance I have tried.
Thanks, sounds like something I may be interested in!

What!!
Have you tried Boss no.1?
It looks like its turned Jenson into an anorexic Oompa Loompa, Don't think I'll take the risk.
Uh-oh, summer is coming! I better run to the mall and buy a shitty cologne!
I'll wait for Boss Bottled Sport Marine Intense EdP
post #30 of 76
honestly thought this was a joke thread when I read the title.
Oh dear, sabotaging the name with night and now this?!
The mayans are right

Considering the original Boss Bottled is one of my favorites of all time, niche or designer or whatever, I'm going to have to do this:

+1
if i love the original boss bottled, and i think that "night" version is not bad at all,. should i try the "sport" version... ??maybe i will.
Does anybody know the release date for this and which store(s) will have the exclusive selling rights? I was at Macy's today and asked about it and they looked at me like I was crazy.
Jesus. Only just seen this. Another uninspiring sports flanker. The list is becoming endless. For what it's worth, I actually love the original.
I think it would be a good idea to get all of the 'Sport' flankers together and do a blind test for the average consumer. Would one be more popular than the other? Or, would no one be able to tell a single difference between them? I'd honestly go with the latter.
...there is only one BOSS...and that is BRUCE...!!
and after that,
boss bottled sport eau fraiche extreme cool summer edition
post #40 of 76
Tried it today... not "sport" enough...

maybe next Kenzo pour Homme Sport is better... as the ad states "so sport"
I dislike Boss Bottled and Boss Bottled Night; not expecting too much of this.
Tried that bottled sport couple of days ago and it was just as undistinguished and boring as we thought. Original Boss bottled is very nice instead. This is just marketing and advertising, nothing more.

Dior Homme Sport, Antaeus Homme Sport, Kouros Sport, Boss Sport (green & red) & Paco Rabanne Homme Sport were/are all decent frags in solid quality IMHO
post #44 of 76
Hugo Boss does it again. Year after year they produce the most forgettable fragrances in the fragrance market and one of the reasons Axe and Lynx became popular.
I think Hugo Boss gets my vote as the overall worst fragrance house, they pump out fragrances like crazy and each is worse than the one previously released. The only good Boss fragrance IMO is Boss Bottled and there now ruining the name......sigh

They already ruined Boss Bottle with Bottled (good)night

As said Boss Sport from 1987 is pretty decent Sport juice- actually my first ever sport juice.
I now own 4 sport flankers: Lanvin L'Homme Sport, Dior Homme Sport & Chanel Allure Sport & Chanel Allure Eau Extreme Sport, all forgettable yet pretty decent Sport flankers IMHO

Why people time after time diss a frag before even test it ?

I know Sport frags for certain people are 99.99% junk juice, but come on - Dior Homme Sport and Lanvin l'Homme Sport are very good Sport flankers. Well made juice, you may hate it like I hate Dior Homme Intense, but I at least realize DHI is good quality but barf worthy juice
post #47 of 76
Sport? Heh...marketing again. The original version is just nice. Are they lacking of ideas
post #48 of 76
I think it might smell good haha
tested it today. better than other sport versions released in 2012 (D&G the one sport, Issey Sport) but totally forgettable. Not worth a buy.
Smells pretty good.
It's actually surprisingly nice! I think it's the aldehydes in the top.
I know most of you will hate this fragrance (primarly because of the name of the brand), but for me it was love at first sniff. Boss Bottled Sport is a soapy citrusy spicy fragrance, with a notable grapefruit and pepper. What I really like is a good sillage and longevity that was unexpected from the Boss fragrance. Much better than D&G The One Sport / Tommy Hilfiger Man Sport / Allure Homme Sport Extreme!
Ok, I will try this one..
I think most of you guys will be pleasantly surprised. Especially if your expectations are as low as you make out. Ok so it's not groundbreaking but it is pretty wearable.
I have tried it - inoffensive, but rather generic sweetness, I like the initial Boss Bottled (as opposed to its two flankers)
Tired it nothing special. The original still the best !
I dislike Boss Bottled and Boss Bottled Night. Any similarities to any of them?

It's quite good, but ultimately boring.
