I was told by a Chanel rep today in Nordstrom that a Allure Sport Extreme is coming...that is all she knows..
She is not suppose to say that
Thanks for the warning.

No problem

Sports and extreme are two of the most dangerous words in perfumery (variations of "blue" are another, but they used that last year); together with Allure, one can only imagine. But next year, I imagine they'll come up with Blue sport fraicheur.

Allure Homme Sport Fraiche Sensuelle Extreme de Nuit Ennui
post #9 of 85
I thought the regular Allure Sport has excellent longevity and projection for a summer fragrance.
Got to check this one out.

Personally when she said Allure I stopped listening. I will not make a major effort to seek this one out.

Thanks for the laugh! You had me in tears.

Allure Sport Extreme.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm starting to regret that Allure Homme was ever made in the first place.

Oupavoc, you sure know how to damn something with faint praise.

Kidding, kidding. No, not much wrong with Edition Blanche.
I much prefer Allure Homme and Edition Blanche thee days and wear them both. As for Extreme, I am hoping for the best, you how Chanel rolls and it cant be a bad as Bleu, not possible.
Extreme, edition, sport, night, black and blue and bleu usually = run. (But not always.)
Didnt want to start a new thread, but Dior is supposed to release an Eau Savage EDP very soon according to a Las Vegas Dior SA.
I wasn't fond of Bleu, but didn't think it was that bad. Definitely not ground-breaking, though. For whatever reason it seemed reviewers hated it long before they even tried it.

Allure Homme Sport Cologne Sport is still my favorite, by far, from the Allure line. Love the bright lemon opening & soapy/white musk drydown. This one rates right up there with Mugler Cologne among my favorite hot weather, fresh scents.

I agree - that's one flanker flanker flanker I love. It ranks right up there with some very pricey bergamot scents, IMO.
I will definitely check this one out.
Allure Homme Sport is the best "sport" fragrance
by far IMO, so if Chanel have made an "extreme"
version, it's definitely worth a look.
And nothing of value was gained...
I am bit suprised that they didnt jump on bandwagon with Bleu De Chanel Sport but Allure Homme Sport Extreme sounds equally bad.

Allure I like; Allure flankers I can do without.
I will place the Allure line and Platinum Egoiste at the bottom of my CHANEL list..

The SPORT is coming back, run and hide!
If stuff like this sells like mad and keeps the good stuff like Les Exclusifs around, I'm happy...
Chanel please bring back Egoiste Cologne Concentree and stop flanking and squeezing every drop out of Allure... If Chanel want to release another fragrance, why not release a totally new fragrance... Something new and revolutionary... But I guess it won't sell, because many people are afraid to change from the Aqua Di Gio type of fragrance... Oh well, I'm glad there's Amouage, Serge Lutens, and many daring fragrance house out there...

The bottle.

same here...
Isn't the idea behind a "sport" fragrance is that it is not "extreme"?
Not another Allure!!!!!!

Yeah, but this is for people into Extreme Ironing...

Hopefully, it's not too much along the lines of their more casual frags - though the name makes me predict the worst case scenario
post #46 of 85
Sweet. It looks like I will be able to keep up with my New Years resololutions on not spending as much money on fragrances as I have in the past.

Hihi, agree with you on that one, sounds kind of bipolar...

Anyway, with Dior and Guerlain releasing their Hommes, I was waiting for Chanel to do the same. Instead of the sport version, I hoped for an intense version of the Allure Homme.

Love the bottle, though, and as a fan of the sport flanker, I am anxious to test this out

I like AHS, but the longevity is not great. I am looking forward to try this intense version.

But the name is such a paradox. How can something be sporty, but also intense ?
edition blanche is the only good one from the allure series IMO Ill give this one a try just cuz youll never know but Chanel lately has been releasing the same thing: Quality, generic, safe, fragrances. Ill expect this one to be along those lines.
I will sample when this is available.....Gary

Well, the original Allure sport was marketed more towards golfers, tennis players, basketball players, etc. This one will be marketed towards mountain bikers, snowboarders, base jumpers, etc. I've heard Sean White is fronting the advertisements.
I figured the Bleu flankers would be dropping at this point...
Polo beat them to the "Extreme Sport" by about a decade and a half.

Awesome. And adding blue to the name could lead to yet another flanker.

Maybe next year we'll get Allure Oud.

I thought they were going to make up for Blue...

Translated notes from http://www.loff.it/2011/12/26/el-perfume-de-la-hazana/

"That is the anatomy of the renovated Eau Extreme Allure Homme Sport by Chanel, from the black pepper from Madagascar after the aromatic mint, tangerine and cypress Moroccan Sicilian, white musks, cottony, velvety and subtly animals bring us closer to the intensity the nutty tonka bean and sandalwood. A musky perfume, fresh and aromatic, slightly spicy amadreado whose maximum is the origin of 'impulse' that pushes man to action."

Thanks for the translation.

So it is a Fresh-Aromatic-Slightly Spicy fragrance with the notes of
- Black Pepper
- Mint
- Tangerine
- Cypress
- Moroccan Sicilian Lemon
- White Musk
- Tonka Bean
- Sandalwood
The notes seems promising.
