I tried it today at one of my local Sephora stores (only 3 bottles available at 85$/piece). As an original A*Men non fan, I can say that it's like a cologne version of Ice*Men + Mugler Cologne, so it gets from me a 2/5 score, mostly because of very poor longevity (2-3 hrs. max, tested several times from a generous sample the SA offered to me). I usually don't have longevity issues with other fresh fragrances (Versace Eau Fraiche, D&G Light Blue and Lanvin L'Homme perform quite good on my skin), so even if I tried to keep an open-mind with this release, I'm just not prepared to spend 85$ for a 2 hrs. joy of freshness. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad frag for summer/sports but it's just too weak to fully perform on me.
On the other hand, I have and love Sunessence Orage d'Ete version which is much more satisfactory on projection/longevity scale and, imo, a very good fragrance for spring/summer evenings.

It reminds me of something that I smelled before but I dont know what. It is indeed worst of Pure line, but not as bad as I expected after reading this topic. I like it (its maybe 3 out of 5 stars for me) but probably wont buy it (btw its being sold for 46 euros online here).

Edit:

Ok this smells like when Avon - Full Speed (R.P.M in some states) meets some parts of Timbuktu

Nice. I'm glad I'm not crazy because if you look a few replies above I said there is a part of it that reminds me exactly of Timbuktu. I know just what you're talking about!

I have never smelled an A*Men flanker.

Pure Shot just appeared in my location at a reasonable price of 65$, but I don't really care for it. Didn't smell it and don't want to. But the price is really affordable here

Would you stand on your head and drink Pure Shot for a decant of Windsor 09? (I'm not holding bro, don't look at me!)

In this case my friend, you are missing absolutely NOTHING!

I'm half changing my mind about this...I hated it when I got it but now that it's actually hot out here it's not *that* bad...I get this mild sweetness from it that I didn't get before when it was colder.
It's still not worth $80 or the A*MEN name though

I have to spray this one on clothes in order for it to last

I'm curious about this, and hoping it's true. I never had the A*Men flankers on my radar, not really liking Angel Men itself. But I tried Pure Shot and really like it. Now I'm wondering, how urgently should I be getting a bottle? There are several other bottles I'm eyeballing at Nordstrom but if PS will be hard to find later, I'm moving it up on the list.

Will Pure Shot be hard to find in a few months? (sorry if this has been discussed, I haven't taken the time to read 10+ pages yet)

This is the worst Mugler fragrance out there....

I voted "Like It".

After being thoroughly disappointed with the Thierry Mugler house, I wasn't expecting to like Pure Shot. But I ended up really liking it.
I went into a store yesterday and a sales assistant tried to spray this stuff on me. And I said "I do not like Mugler", and she said "why not"? I replied " I have not forgiven the house for the travesty that is Angel Men".lol

I am seriously considering getting a back up bottle of the Shot so I have it hand for convience when my bottle runs out considering I dont think stock surplus will be an issue with this Limited Edition. I feel Pure Shot is a great frag. I love it and use it daily because of its functionality. It's so easy to wear

I just find it an ok fragrance, inoffensive. Don't like the milky aspect of it, but I probably wouldn't be as bothered by that if the bottle wasn't white, lol!

Finally tried Pure Shot today. Massively disappointed. I actually think Ice Men is far superior.

Ok, this now has to be the worst named fragrance and advertising campaign ever now that Oscar Pistorius, the face of the fragrance, has been charged with murder for shooting his girlfriend. I know Pure Shot is no longer in production, but Mugler needs to be sure and remove references to him in any leftover or future ads about this fragrance.
LOL @ Pure Shot -- sounds like Mr. Pistorius got a "pure shot" to his girlfriend from his gun!
What a disaster.
It seems there have been previous incidents of violence between the two as well, according to local news radio.
Either way, I can say that I have the Mugler Murder Fragrance -- brand new in box never used What a piece of Mugler history lol.

What a fiasco. Fragrance was a flop anyway, but this is just the icing on the cake.
You couldn't have made it up if you'd tried...
This is so sad! Ironic of course too. How terrible.

I agree that it is sad.

Oh my, it's the curse of Pure Shot!

There are a lot of jokes over the internet, and whilst I laugh its very sad for the family of the woman...
Lets hope he and Lance Armstrong become friends in the jail.

Was about to say, with Clarins removing any mention of that ad campaign from their sites, it might mean that this limited edition could truly be limited (unlike Malt and Havane which have seen the light of day again recently). If you like this, it may be a good idea to stock up now...

Yeah, I noticed that a few days ago when I curiously check to see if Pure Shot was still being mentioned on the Mugler USA website. They were pretty quick to remove it. I really wouldn't be surprised if the value of Pure Shot skyrockets on ebay, no matter how mediocre the fragrance is.

If it wasn't for the fact that I was able to get it 50% off retail during Black Friday, I would never have purchased it.
