I realize this has been discussed in many other topics, but I am making a new one anyway. I recently blind bought Chanel's Allure Homme after reading countless reviews about how great it is. I was really disappointed! Fortunately, I paid less than $20 because I bought a used bottle. This stuff is extremely sweet and cloying. However, I'm going to give this a few more wears to see if it will grow on me. Anyway, today while at Macy's I tested out Allure Homme Sport on my skin for the first time. Again, I was very disappointed. I'm glad I actually tested this because I was literally just about to blind buy a used bottle of Sport from a member on here. Am I the only one who really dislikes this scent?

Love all the Allures but Sport/Original > Blanche

Run, don't skip, far away from any fragrance with the word "Allure" in its name.

I like to start out with a few skips before I take of running....

I thoroughly enjoy Allure Homme Sport Cologne Sport (EDC). It's very similar to Hermes Voyage. Great hot weather fragrance.

I really like AHS as well, but not regular AH. Came as a bit of a Surprise to me, but have sampled both several times and the sport seems to do a freshnes I really like.

Absurdly subjective though. Some hate it, some find it boring and some really like it. Be happy you didnt like it, more of the other goodstuff to sample :-)

Recently, edition blanche...

Agreed. Allure Homme Sport Cologne Sport is great for hot weather and very long lasting (2 sprays=8+ hours)

i LOVE Allure Homme Edition Blanche. I also have Allure Homme Sport which is good, but EB is much better.

Edition Blanche & Allure Homme COLOGNE Sport are the absolute winners!

Chanel - Allure Homme Sport ... I dare say it is one of best, overall, summer fragrances ... a fantastic journey from its sharp, orange, citrus opening, through its imaginative, peppery, neroli and cedar heart, thence morphing into its exquisite, creamy and sexy, white musk and vetiver base ...

I don't like them either. I voted "none".
imo there nice but theres better out there for the same money
post #15 of 41
Enjoy all but prefer Edition Blanche
Despite the strong hate for the Allure line, I like and own the Homme. If I have extra money I'll try the Sport and the Blanche, but they're not in my priority list right now.

Allure Sensuelle, diluted about 50%.
I'm going against the grain here and say that I really enjoy Allure Homme. The others not so much

Interesting results. I'll try to give it another chance in a few days.

question anyone who tells you to "run" from these. they're not high art, but they're excellent everyday fragrances based on a superior feminine version. nothing wrong with any of them, although I think Edition Blanche is a weak link.

Allure Homme.
Edition Blanche.
I really like Allure Homme Sport. Nice and inoffensive for the office and my 2 female staff love it. They will absolutely tell me if they don't like one of my frags but this is one of their favourites. It is always a good idea to keep "wimmin" reasonably happy!

They would be perfect to wear to the Thomas Kinkade gallery.

Ahs

Too me, except for the exclusive line, Chanel has done nothing memorable since 1990...

Not a fan of the original Allure. I enjoy the sweet lemon of Blanche and Allure Sport.

Found myself reaching for this again this morning.. I honestly enjoy it now! The top notes are a little too sweet but it dries down pretty nicely!
This is one line I truly dislike. I've owned all 3 at some point and have gotten rid of all of them.

IMO you've skipped the best one in the line - Edition Blanche
post #31 of 41
edition blanche isn't so good, but the other two really are vile creatures.
coco would turn in her grave if she knew, this duo really isn't worth bearing her name.
I think Blanche has an alright dry down, but in general, write yourself a restraining order from any of these
post #33 of 41
Chanel sucks, at least all of their mainstream masculines these days. Yes, I said it. AHS reminds me of lemon pledge, synthetic and cloying, one of the least natural smelling citruses I've sniffed.
lol lots of hate on here for the mainstream Chanel line.
I tried AHS on Sunday night and it was so bland and boring. Reminded me of Versace pour homme. It was just not worth the asking price. Allure was also very boring.
Not too big on AH line either, but if I had to choose I'd pick the original AH first.

Come on! Allure Homme is nice and a sure to please. That's what it was meant to be, and it works well for me like this. It is not a masterpiece, but all the hate it gets here? This is nonsense!
