New Guerlain: L'Homme L'Eau Boisée

Notes include: Lime, Mint, Rum, Woods and Vetiver
From NST:
The inspiration for this new interpretation of Guerlain Homme L’EAU, overdosed with vetiver, is drawn from Thierry Wasser's journey in Southern India.
He encountered a new kind of vetiver essence on the highlands overlooking the city of Coimbatore. Those of Java and Haïti were already known, but that of India was a first… It was therefore the opportunity to bring a new activity to the local population based on a rational and eco-friendly culture, that enabled Guerlain to use this exceptional new type of vetiver.

I had a spray of this last week and was unfortunately disappointed, very heavy on the Iso E Super.

Sorry to hear that. I know the original had quite a dose of it.

TheCandyPerfumeBoy.com blog had this to say: One of Guerlain Homme’s only pitfalls was it’s emphasis on Iso E Super, a strong woody synthetic, that whilst adding a rich texture, unfortunately has a tendency to be brash and push other notes aside. This emphasis has been almost entirely removed in L’Eau Boisée, which places the majority of it’s emphasis on the vetiver and drier and more refined woody notes.

I'm still eager to try it.

Must try, thanks!

When will it be available and who will be carrying it?

Looks like it's going to be a mass market release, Sephora should have it. Sorry, didn't see the previous threads from last month.
Here's a very enthusiastic review from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hAVrmp4LVU

Hope to try this soon also.

I was not aware that this was a vetiver prominent fragrance. I sort of hated the original.

I have the Intense and L'eau versions, so I'll probably blind buy this if I can't find a place to test it locally.

this really did nothing for me at all.thought I was going to wowed but instead got something my nose has been used to-original guerlain l'homme and terre d'hermes.nothing really extraordinary here.

I guess this will be good for spring or summer but thank God I managed to sample this at John Lewis.will save my money for something more interesting.this just bores and irritates my nostrils.

If you are expecting the vetiver to dominate you will be disappointed. Incidentally on second wearing I sprayed much more (10+) and it works better that way, achieving a sort of scent-cloud effect.

Love Live Jazz and Roadster and love Terre D'Hermes - I'll blind buy this for sure

I saw "overdosed with vetiver" and got excited, but my wallet sighed with relief at the quick follow-up of "disappointed" and "Iso E Super". Looked interesting for a minute or two anyway.

Vetiver by Guerlain is a classic, so I wonder how this take will be.

There is no "Guerlain L'Homme." There is a Guerlain Homme, however.

So, given the name "Boisée" I would expect something pretty woody. I haven't seen any comments talking about a woody note...

I'm having it on me today for full day wear.

To my nose , it opens up with lime, salty lime ,which is associating for me as being @ sea beach drinking lime juice.
Several minutes later the mint and rum accords join in for continuous dance with the salty-lime vibe.
Its gorgeous.
After half an hour the vetiver (which probably is the cause of the salty vibe accord to begin with) is more prominent - very compelling , very easy to wear.
Love it.

I added this comment to a different thread:

"Tried it today. Nice enough, but common smelling, with similarities to a weaker peppery version of Terre d'Hermes in the drydown. Nice limey top-notes, but they don't last long. Nicer bottle than Homme or Homme Intense, but, in my view, not as good as either of them. I tried it alongside the Intense version. My vote definitely goes to the Intense."

Have now reread the comments from other members, and wondering why I didn't detect the significant amount of vetiver this is meant to contain. Think I'll give L'Eau Boisée another try this evening!

Thank you for the update.

Any news on this coming to the U.S. soon?
