Sample Haul: Lutens, MDCI, Frapin, Puredistance, Amouage

Today I got some samples of Amouage Dia Man, Serge Lutens Chergui, MDCI Invasion Barbare, Frapin 1270, Tom Ford Oud Wood, and Puredistance M. Let me say that all of them are interesting scents but I don't understand the hype for Puredistance M or Chergui. The other four smell really nice. Any comments on 1270, IB, OW, or Dia?

So you didnt enjoy Puredistance M. Did you sample all of them at once?

I was so excited to sample them all at once that I may have fatigued my nose. I will try them out again after my nose clears up. Puredistance M is a powerhouse that's for sure.

1270 is a great fragrance but it is a little too sweet for my liking. I am receiving my sample of Dia Man later on today. I already own Chergui and this would be a great fragrance for the fall IMO. I am not too sure why you are liking 1270 and not Chergui? Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Chergui has a slightly feminine thing going on in the drydown that doesn't sit well on my skin. Haven't tried Frapin 1270, maybe I should get a sample.

Really like Invasion Barbare
Used to love Chergui but less so now (thought it was my holy grail at one point..not anymore)
Frapin 1270 very good but dont find occasions to wear it

Have never tried the Puredistance M, TF Oud and Amouage

In my opinion, the beauty of Puredistance M is that it takes its time evolving and mellowing. The drydown wonderous.

Have a decant of Chergui and the first time I wore it I couldn't stand it then wore it again and now I love it. I was looking into Frapin 1270 but was curious about the longevity and silage . I am also testing Idole EDP but I want something that lasts. Anyone with 1270 experience?

Dia Man is terrific. I like it OK coming out of the bottle, but an hour or two later it becomes a real stunner. Nothing strange or assertive that will knock you over the head, just a classy, comfortable, great-smelling scent.

Just sprayed some M on me five minutes ago. I wear M, 4 out of 7 days a week. I'm still blown away each and everytime I give myself a spray. To me there's no equal.

All of them have grown on me and if I had to rank them in terms of full bottle worthiness, it would be: Invasion Barbare, 1270, Oud Wood, Dia, Chergui, and M. Puredistance is just too much craftsmanship for my nose to handle right now, granted this is my first time sampling an extrait de parfum.
