Scent of the Day Wednesday 8th February 2012

Thread Starter
Good morning all!

I can't smell much today due to a cold and acute laryngitis, so
it will need to be a piercing scent if I am to experience it at all.

Melograno should hit the spot nicely.

Sorry to hear you're poorly, Kewart. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

SotD is Cuir Mauresque.

Take care, all.

Baghari today! It's icy and snowy outside, but inside it's warm and cosy and I'm waiting for my DH to get back from a business trip. Baghari seems to me to be that sort of romantic frag!

Morning all. Kewart - hope you feel better soon.

Osmanthus Interdite today.

Best wishes to kewart!!! I swear by inhaling what is the steam of a chunk of Ayurvedan tiger balm dissolved in hot water. It blows your mind... literally Get well soon!
Still terribly cold here (I have converted from dislike winters to HATE winters).... Une Fleur de Cassie today. It is a bit stale and smells a lot like rooty, earthy iris on me. It sure is a stunner, but I tend to prefer it in slightly warmer weather.
Best to all

Oh Hedonist! Congratulations! Here's to the next six thousand informative, kind, and downright entertaining posts! Yipee!

I have been painting this morning, (the house, not a canvas!) and now I am going to have a bath. I am craving something very simple, so Italian baby cologne in the bathwater then Santa Maria Novella Aqcua di Sicilia, a straight up Citrus Cologne.

Take Care all and keep warm those of you are having such cooooooold weather.

Hello everyone!

Even though it's ballet-Wednesday, I woke up this morning with a very specific craving, so with apologies to Chanel, I'm in vintage-'78 Calvin Klein for women. This aldehydic rosy chypre was the first fragrance I ever bought for myself. It was the early 80s, I was 12 or 13, and it must have been discontinued right around the same time as it just completely disappeared from stores soon after ...so it was also my first experience with the heartbreak of discontinuation (fortunately, I've run across new-old-stock since then, so I've been able to stock up.) I loved it then and still do, so it's partly nostalgia I'm sure, but this is really an HG scent for me - I just don't ever want to be without it.

Wow hedonist, congratulations on those 6000 posts, and in what's got to be record time!! Do you ever wonder what you did with yourself before basenotes? Looking forward to your next 6000 contributions!

I'm sorry, dear. I know just how you feel.

Congratulations to Hedonist!

Quarry, we miss you. Looking forward to seeing you again when you get a breather.

My post- gym workout and shower SotA is Givenchy's Les Parfums Mythiques Eau de Givenchy. Someone at the gym was wearing Pink Sugar or something very similar, and as much as I enjoy that fragrance it repulsed me in that setting.

SotD has been my new love Charogne. Still keep sniffing and smilingnlike a loon!

Healing vibes to Kewart~~~~~~~~

CONGRATS to Hedonist on your milestone

Kewart, feel better sweet!

Hedonist...pretty amazing! Congratulations!

I began allergy shots yesterday & began itching last night, nothing major....just annoying.

Put on some BPAL Casanova (nice vetiver scent) but it's matured into something I think would smell better on my husband. So off it comes.

I like Terry's idea of Bois Farine, dreamed of it last night, in fact. Bois Farine, it is!

I hope you feel better soon, kewart. Do you have a vaporizer/humidifier? Moist air helps with laryngitis as it does with the kid's version (croup).

hedonist, 6000 posts in only a year and a half! Pretty impressive!

Quarry, hopefully you'll get a breather soon...

I am wearing Provence Santé Bergamot today.

Congrat's Hedonist on 6K
Quarry, you are missed
Lilybelle, I hate Pink Sugar in most outdoor settings, I imagine in a hot gym it smells even worse.
Feel better Kewart!

For me today it's:

Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf (from a sample)

No comments yet, I want to wear this again before I post a 'review'. However, I will say this: it's spicy, but it isn't a spicebomb.

Hey y'all -

I'm in Hermès Rouge for the evening. Have a wonderful night everyone!

Good evening everyone. Today was (and is) Reglisse Noire. Which is back in stock at Indiescents, too
post #41 of 47
Hedonist: Congrats on your 6k posts!
Kewart, hope you feel better... I concur with Larimar-- steam and tiger balm (or peppermint oil/eucalyptus oil/vicks vapo rub, etc.) can offer great relief...

SotD is actually Tommy Girl! Reading "The Guide" made me do it! lol... I was a bit afraid initially, but it is turning out to be surprisingly pleasant!
Hedonist ! 6000 posts - way to go ! Congratulations !

Well even though I have enjoyed PS, smelling it in a hot gym - I couldn't get away from it, burnt sugar and sweat - might have turned me off of it for a while.

Flowerbomb isn't much of a "bomb" either, though I think it is very pretty and well done. The only bomb thing about it is the bottle.

The divine Creed Bois du Portugal tonight.
Hello all! Would you believe that I FORGOT to spritz this morning? Egads, what's the world coming to? (*snickers*)

Now, in my pjs, I'm sampling AG Quel Amour! LS lists notes of "peony, wild roses, pink geranium, pomegranate, blueberry, redcurrant, Morello cherry, peach". My first impressions of this cheery, sparkly fruity-floral are very positive! Let's see how this one dries down...
