The one and the one gentleman...

Is it just me or are these almost exactly the same fragrances? The One Gentleman is a bit more projective it would seem and that's it.

What are your opinions about the differences between the two?

I get much more of a dry woody vibe in the gentleman version. The regular seems pretty much like a straight-up weak oriental composition. However, I have to admit that I didn't feel any need to get the second one after buying the first.

There similar, good scent but they don't last.

I'm not thinking about purchase yet, but I do have to admit that after trying it after long time, it made a positive impression on me. I have other frag priorities (le labo rose 31), but if I'm to own this one I just want to do a little research

The One smells slightly tropical and fruity.
The One Gentleman smells heavily of vanilla. Longevity is better too.

Ok, thanks guys I'll test them both these days...

Totally different fragrances. The One Gentleman is excellent, and lasts. The One is nice, but a bit too plasticky.

Bond No 9 I Love New York For Him has a somewhat similar grapefruit note as The One. It lasts over 12 hours on me. It's also much more expensive and pretty generic. It would be a decent Niche' alternative to The One.

Tnx again! Don't know why exactly, but I do find The One and The One Gentleman quite appealing all of a sudden. Might be because they slightly remind me, in a sense of style, of Gucci Envy for men wich I adore.

To me they're totally different. I've never liked The One much, but I was quite taken by Gentlemen.

You know, I thought the same thing when I was smelling the caps at home...but I remember them smelling a little different on my skin. I think I like the gentleman better.

It'd seem that the Gentleman is somewhat more potent if my memmory serves me well, but it's been a while since I've tested it.

Gentleman is stronger than The One, but that's not really brag worthy. The One is very weak in projection. Smells so good though. I wish it was as strong as D&G Pour Homme.

That's how I remeber The One to be, very weak.

wish these would last. girls love them though.

IMO they're quite different: Gentleman is almost a gourmand. I like both, but preffer Gentleman.

Could it be the cooler weather, behind the sudden like for the one/gentleman?

I didn't like either initially, the original one seems too childish (not to mention weak), and gentleman was okay.

But I got the one gentleman for my dad and started using it a bit aswell in the process. I find it much better than the one, it's stronger, sweet, respectable and clean in an oldschool way (lavender+patchouli effect?). I'm using it more and more often these days, so +1 in my books.

Both have nice scents overall, but they don't really last/project. I wear them when I only need a fragrance for 1.5 hours, 2 hours top (eg. going to church). At work, when I used The One Gentleman last fall, I had to reapply after lunch.
