In terms of Perry Ellis Red:

Good points: Good projection and longevity for an aquatic. Clone of Acqua Di Gio (good if you like this). Very cheap.

Bad points: Clone of Acqua Di Dio (if you hate this). Sprayer is useless. Kind of boring.

I haven't smelled Unbound, but 360 Red is a very good clone of ADG, that lasts a bit longer. The main difference is that 360 Red is a bit fruitier, while ADG has more floral/oceanic notes.

Also, if you like this smell, give Paris Hilton Just Me for Men a sample as well. It was created by the same perfumer that did 360 Red, and is very similar (but I think a bit better & more aquatic).

It's also even cheaper than 360 Red.

Haven't tried Unbound, but 360 is a decent, albeit unspectacular scent. I've had it since last summer and have honestly only worn it once or twice. Yes, it's quite affordable, but I think there are many other scents that are better for only slightly more money. If you're looking for a budget summer scent, I would really suggest saving the $20 either of these ones cost and applying it towards something in the next cost tier ($30-$40).

Excellent suggestion.

I like Unbound, but could never love it. Close to Acqua di Gio but with tomato leaf and a strange mineral element swimming behind the melon note. I think Unbound is actually a bit more aquatic smelling than AdG.

Unbound is really cheap and really strong, with a melon note as others have said. I found some inconsistency, though...bought a vial and loved it, then bought a few minis which seem to contain harsher juice; the aqua is more brackish and the melon seems more artificial. I might almost compare it more to Millesime Imperial than to Acqua di Gio.

I would do the same. Except to me, the melon in Millesime Imperial is a touch more synthetic than Unbound's. But close.

Unbound is one of my wife's all-time favorite and I have 50 bottles or so.

Andrew,

I've owned both but since these types of colognes no longer appealed to me, I got rid of them. However, both smell good. If I were you I would purchase 360 Red and here's why.......

- Much Better Projection
- Better Longevity
- It's stronger, so a bottle will last you longer and you will require less sprays per application

Cheers guys-which would you say is sweeter-don't want to smell like a bag of sweets: )
I don't think either are sweet.

Only know about the Halston. I've got to say, for a frag that cost me £10, it was one hell of a scent. You couldn't detect any 'cheapness'. It didn't even feel like a £10 scent. Come to think of it, I'm going to seek it out again.
