Your top 10 classic feminines to wear!

post #1 of 50
Thread Starter
So I was at the Estee Lauder counter today (while wearing Shalimar!) thinking about how gorgeous some of their fragrances today, and I was wondering what other people's favorite classic feminine fragrances to wear are.

So, what are your top 10?

Mine are:

1. Guerlain Shalimar
2. Guerlain L'Heure Bleue
3. Guerlain Mitsouko
4. Gres Cabochard
5. Estee Lauder Private Collection (such an underrated masterpiece)
6. Prada Infusion d'Iris
7. Estee Lauder Knowing
8. Estee Lauder Azuree (sort of cheating since it's exactly Aramis with a little Jasmine)
9. Hermes Kelly Caleche (hilariously pink purse themed)
10.Paco Rabanne La Nuit (incredibly dark and wonderful)

I like Alien, too. I'm a jasmine fan and it smells to me like a sweet jasmine tea. I don't own it, but if my girlfriend were to buy it for herself I would probably wear it occasionally.

I'll add Sycomore too. I didn't mention that one, since I have no idea how this one can be marketed to a woman. This one is distinctively masculine to my nose.
post #15 of 50
I have not tried wearing many feminines yet, but Sous le Vent is definitely one I have and would wear.

Oops! I forgot Ysatis de Givenchy!
post #33 of 50
I made a mistake- it should be Eau d'Hadrian. And also, when you try that one, be sure it is EDP, the EDT is very disappointing in its sillage. So it comes in the girl's bottle with the fabulous gold bag bottle cover. Not available in men's!

I wear Diorissimo in the spring and summer, usually with a white linen shirt. Its such a persuasive lily of the valley, its as if youd plucked a sprig and stuck it in your pocket.

Bellodgia any time.

Tabu in cool weather when Im in the mood.
post #42 of 50
Eau de Hadrien
Shalimar
Mitsouko
Vol de Nuit

I would include Chypres if they were not discontinued.
post #44 of 50

1) Bandit de Robert Piguet, EDP;

2) Baghari de Robert Piguet, EDP;
3) Cuir de Russie by Chanel, EDT;
4) Eau de Cologne by Chanel, EDT;
5) Mitsouko by Guerlain, EDT/EDP;
6) Jolie Madame by Pierre Balmain, EDT;
7) Miss Balmain by Pierre Balmain, EDT;
8) Tabac Blond by Caron, EDT;
9) Cabochard by Gres, EDT;
10) Scandal by Lanvin, EDP.
------------------------------------------
Note: In general, pure parfum (extrait) versions of the fragrances are more femininebath.gif.
This is why I have specified the concentration that is appropriate for a mancool.gif (IMHO for sure).
-------------------------------------------
PS: Masculinity or aggressiveness of some of the listed fragrances is in their names already (Banditevil.gif, Cuir de Russie, Eau de Cologne, Tabac Blond, Cabochard, and Scandal). But please, don't be ashamed of Jolie Madame and Miss Balmain. They are  actually butchesbeer.gif with hairy armpits and big "balls". lolk.gif
