Ausliebezumduft Samples

Does anyone know the sample 'policy' of Ausliebezumduft/First in Fragrance. I have ordered many samples from them the last few months and they all come in the same 2,5 ml sprayers but the size of the samples seem to vary with each order. The first batch I received every sample was filled to the brim so there was about 2,5 ml of juice in each of them which I thought was great especially for the price you pay, which is about 4 euros.

However, the second batch I received there was somewhere between 1,5 ml to 2 ml in each of them but the price I payed was of course the same. Then the last two batches I received , which I ordered at the same time, was a mix of 2,5 ml and 1,5 ml to 2 ml samples. Strange thing is that, for instance, I ordered several Montale samples, which are the same price and the samples were made by the same person (can be seen by the handwriting on the labels), but there was a big difference in amount of juice, some were 2,5 ml and other were not even 2 ml. That doesn't make any sense to me...

It might not seem that shocking but you pay the same price and when you order a lot of samples like I did, around 40 in the last months, it really adds up in 'lost' mls. Is there a logic in this or do they just fill these samples at random with whatever amount of juice they like. Don't get me wrong, I'm not really complaining here, I'm really happy so far with their service, the fast shipping and the friendly handwritten notes with each order but I'm just curious why there's such a big difference in sample size...

Even at the lowest end, they pour the most generous samples of anyone. I know the inconsistency is frustrating, but I'd say be grateful for what you got. Many of us get .7ml samples from LuckyScent for between $4 and $10, depending on the fragrance. Even in your smallest sample, you are getting more juice/euro than us.

I think it depends on how hurried the person is and/or how much remains in the bottle a the time.

One will subconsciously be conservative when the fill level is close to empty.

I'd suggest you simply mention that you're a repeat customer and would appreciate at least 2ml samples.

From the info-page you get when you click on the "i"-button:

Dear customer,

in our new shop you have the option to order below the product description the favoured samples. The minimum amount is 16,-Euro. That means: If you order at least 4 samples (each sample is ca. 1,5 ml - 2,5 ml), you reach this amount.

I have just bought six samples from them and I know what you are saying as each one seems to have different amounts in. Though they are still way more generous than Luckyscent and Les Senteurs and they also give you the samples in a spray. I found them to provide a top class service all the way and I'm more than happy.

Agree 100%. Great service and very generous samples. They are first rate.

Agree, first class service

Off topic (?). . .

I recently ordered a batch of 10 samples from ScentedMonkey. . .only four arrived. It took three emails to get a refund. Never again.

In stark contrast: I ordered two sets of seven samples from Aedes de Venustas for $15 ea. The second order arrived on time; the first never arrived. I contacted Karl & Robert at AdV and they immediately put a replacement order in the mail free of charge! They will definitely be getting my business in the future (when I've saved my pennies up).

Ausliebezumduft is the best choice for my $ samples or FBs
Shipping time sux & not very 'trackable' to the USA but they never fail.
Only 1 mixup by shipping the wrong product but a single email corrected it with the correct one here in a flash.

Thanks for a little voice of reason. It's just that because my first order was all 2,5 ml samples I somehow expected that to be the case with all their samples and when I noticed that wasn't the case I started to wonder. I guess subconsciously I was hoping to get as much as possible of those delicious juices...

But again, like I said before, I'm more than happy with their great service. I love that their samples come in sprayers, they have a really great selection of fragarances, are very fast with shipping and always very kind to put a personalised note with your order. They are my main source for samples and I will definitely continue to use them, no doubt about that...

No, haven't done business with them yet. Did check out their site a few times, they have a slightly different selection in fragrances compared to ALZD and they didn't have most of the ones I was looking for. The samples on Essenza Nobile seem to be slightly cheaper though, but I don't know how big they are...

They are just as good. Once I had some samples get lost in the post: they sent free replacements with no quibbles. Top marks!

Yes, they are on the same (high) level as ALZD/FiF. Those two cover about 80% of my sample needs, the rest mostly comes from ebay and trades and is usually vintage or exclusive stuff that they can't offer.

Chiming in to say that I'm also a huge FIF fan. I was surprised to see that their prices are often better (and sometimes much better) than niche perfume shops here in London, and they don't even charge for shipping to the UK. Plus, I've found their service to be stellar.

Ok being dumb but what is the full name of the FiF site mentioned please?

It's First In Fragrance, also called Ausliebezumduft. Just google!

I should really give these guys a chance, I hate these .7ml we get here

I would NOT recommend using this site if you are based in the US. I ordered $200 cologne from them two months ago and have yet to receive it. I have emailed them several times with no response. I finally filed a claim with PayPal and hope to have my money refunded by the end of the week (again, after two months).

Mine also.

I have nine samples on the way from this company and they are so generous with the amount you get. I just could not go back to luckyscent for samples which are so very mean with what they give you.

They are the best.

I think this is the first time I have quoted myself.lol

My samples have arrived and they are this time filled to the brim. There must be 3ml in each one and some are from expensive frags like Mona's Oud and a Xerjoff. Now that is good service and it only took two days from despatch to arrive from Germany to Old Blighty.

I couldn't agree more.

Personally, I feel they both have their advantages. There will be fragrances that either I'm simply curious to sample (and have no desire to purchase a full bottle) or have no need for more than 1ml of juice. That's where Luckyscent comes in.

I'm planning a massive order with them for a split and I was curious -- have any of you requested free samples with bottle purchases? Or are their samples purchase only?

I don't mind either way, would just like to know if I should buy the stuff I want or just ask for it.

You get three samples (up to 12 €) for free with every full bottle purchase.

As I recall there's a field in the checkout section where you can list the samples you want. I just ordered a FB from them two weeks ago and got two big samples (I only asked for two; didn't know you could do three!).
