More interesting YSL L'Homme?

I'm looking for a fragrance that is similar to YSL L'Homme in that it should be "yellow", have a "tobacco texture" (I think the tonka beans does this), be warm, versatile and have a classy side.

What I lack in L'Homme is something to be curious about, it is too nice and wholesome. Maybe some incense, oud or more wood would add this?

La Nuit de l'Homme is not what I'm looking for because it's more of a "dark blue" fragrance with the sweet lavender. Dolce & Gabbana is more in the genre I'm looking for but I think it lacks finesse.

Any ideas?

Perhaps Azarro Duo Men

Pure Havane?

La Nuit in my experience is deeper and has a little more character than straight L'Homme, so that may be worth a sample, if that's the brand you want to stay with.

I had that thought when I tried La Nuit de L'Homme LE PARFUM, probably make you feel the same way too.

The thing is that L'Hommes beauty IMO is its lightness and transparency. The problem is its longevity once it dies, it dies, not much base on the fragrance. I personally prefer L'homme over La Nuit in terms of smell, although La Nuit beats it in every other dept Longevity and projection, but it has a generic quality (lavender perhaps) that i dont like.
Try original Kiton Men.... or perhaps Burberry Touch. The original D&G Pour Homme is not bad, especially at dry down.

To my nose, almost anything would be more interesting than YSL L'Homme. Including La Nuit.

I kind of want to say Burberry London, but I'm sure you've tried it already. But just for the sake of argument, why don't I beat this horse to death. It's got tobacco, I don't know how much of it your nose will pick up, it's certainly classy and warm, and definitely curious.

La Nuit de L`Homme

Definitely +1 the D&G PH recommendation. To me that is L'homme with added tobacco.

I wouldn't advise purchasing La Nuit. It's less mature than L'Homme and has that cavity sweetness reminiscent to One Million. Might I suggest Boss #6? Two sprays and you'll smell like a champ. Real talk. ;-)

Try Idole by Lubin. While not similar in smell to L'homme, it's a transparent vanilla-free oriental that manages to be rather engaging and spicy.

I think Baldessarini by Hugo Boss may be what you are after. A sunny, semi-sweet woody tobacco which has the advantage of not smelling cheap.

+1 Baldessarini by Hugo Boss.

Kiton for Men was a great suggestion

Armani Mania Pour Homme.

I've got to say that the original Chanel Allure has some similarities to L'Homme and it might just be what you're looking for. I've also found that it has better longevity/projection than L'Homme, for what it's worth. Another one to try out is Boss Bottled, but it is much sweeter than L'Homme and Allure, but is still along those lines.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Azarro Duo Men - Haven't had a chance to try yet.
Pure Havane - Haven't had a chance to try yet.
La Nuit - Not what I'm looking for. Different in character with its lavender-cardamon mix.
La Nuit de L'Homme LE PARFUM - They don't carry it where I live. Hesitant to blind buy.
Kiton Men - Haven't had a chance to try yet.
Burberry Touch - I tried it a while ago. A lot more green than L'Homme to my memory, and less spice/tobacco feel.
Burberry London - Good recommendation but I just can't get myself to like that cherry candy top note.
D&G PH - I've forgotten to try this one. Will try this one next.
Idole by Lubin - Sorry but I can't stand this fragrance. Concentrated maraschino cherry is what I get.
Baldessarini by Hugo Boss - Best suggestion so far! Very nice scent. I need a second wearing with this. Might not be woody enough...
Armani Mania Pour Homme - Found this to be nice but very bland/lacking personality.
Chanel Allure - It's close to the scent I'm looking for in style but it there's too much going on imo. So it's a bit too messy.
Boss Bottled - Similar to L'homme true but less mature, too fruity and too sweet.

Please see my other thread: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/296...-perfect-scent!

A mix of Biagiotti Roma and Encre Noire is what I'm looking for!
