Seems like Fleur Du Male is rated quite highly. Is it worth getting considering I love Le Male? I've been considering it for a while.

The top notes are a bit overwhelming, but I love the dry down, and almost prefer it to Le Male.

My rankings:
1. Fleur du Male
2. Le Male
3. Gaultier 2
3. Le Male Terrible

I personally own all four, though Terrible will probably not stay for long.

I haven't tried Kokorico but it seems Pierre Guillaume is a fan, judging by these comments on the (excellent and entertaining) Bonkers About Perfume blog:

'PG singled out a couple of mainstream scents which had particularly impressed him - JPG Kokorico and Terre d'Hermès - describing them as "a few pieces in an ocean of new launches".'

Hmmm. I had made a deal to purchase Fleur Du Male but the guy backed out a long time ago I had been reduced to my sample. Now I want to return to buying the full bottle again!

I must admit, although I am obviously bias, really thought Le Male would do better. I guess its popularity has taken a toll on many of you But I dont mind because I think the whole house, although small, is genius. It really pushes the envelope. Its unique compared to the modern releases of many houses. Le Male at its time was groundbreaking. Was pushing the envelope as a male fragrance, and is now a modern classic. Fleur du male: You basenoters love the risk, and Fleur du Male is just that. Very risky top notes, but when you dry down you get enveloped in a sweet, white, cloud of milky flowers with vanilla. Gaultier^2 with the erotic, sexy, cloying vanilla and musk.

I wish I made a poll!

Definitely gonna try Fleur Du Male.

I heard the projection and longevity is better than Le Male?

Not on me. Only on top notes it's stronger.

Dude, wait for the top notes to go down. You will smell the top notes and then start thinking about deactivating your basenotes account, but WAIT. And I suggest that when you give it a full wearing, do it one spray under the shirt

Haha, are they that bad?

The only fragrance I've smelled and hated straight away was Declaration Essence by Cartier.

I loved Versace The Dreamer and the original A*Men even though they are considered to have harsh openings.

Maybe you'll be like me and absolutely love the top notes the most!

To be quite honest, I dont necessarily hate the top notes either. I just dont know if i would feel comfortable with people smelling the top notes on me. Its not an offensive smell, just waaaay to fem flowery for me to be comfortable wearing out. After is dries down for a few minutes though, its like a flowerly, milky, vanilla type scent. Sometimes the dry down can be perceived as Le Male.

But for the love of god please dont do more than 1 spray

Definitely gonna try this. I don't mind smelling feminine.

Neither do I. But I wouldnt call the top of this fragrance "uni-sex" feminine. Its just smells likes it made for a women. Dior Homme is extremely manly compared to it. But I still highly recommend this fragrance. Smells great, unique, lasts long, projects far. Looks like we have met all the bases for a good fragrance
