Thank you, sir! I'm a little obsessed with Mitsouko at the moment - now, to find a nice big well-preserved bottle of parfum.

Very very admirable haul rubegon.

Scored vintage Donna Karen Gold. Blind buy but has to be done sometimes. Cost single figure so will pass on if I don't like

Serge Lutens Muscs Koublaï Khän, 50 ml.
Wowee, it's only the 11th and we're already on page two! Enjoy your new or new-to-you perfumes, everyone!

Alityke - wasn't DK's Gold (the aquatic lily, right?) just released in 2006, or is that one a re-release of an older fragrance?

I found a bottle of new-old-stock, sealed and perfect, vintage-50s Detchema today, a full ounce of parfum (!!!), so I think I have my share of that one now. I also backed-up my almost empty bottle of Lady Vengeance, although I hadn't decided to actually do that until I could test Lumiere Noir Pour Femme a few more times, so now I'll have to entertain the idea of having both ....darn it.

Thanks Alityke. It was a nice day! I didn't know where to start.

I agree - its fun to buy inexpensive fragrances blind. Some are cheap enough that it makes no sense to buy a decant, and its fun to get a new bottle and discover that you really like it.

i have also been becoming interested in obscure perfumes...pulled the trigger on vintage Devastating by Parfums Anjou from 40s - 50s..lets see how it turns out..

E I think it's an unopened bottle of the aquatic lily Gold I love wet lily notes but don't like calone, but at the price I paid I'm happy to risk it. If I don't like it I'll be joining the swap board or free to good home thread

Oh okay, so it is the one from 2006. Donna Karan's had one or two fragrances that were discontinued then reissued, but I hadn't heard that Gold was one of them. But you piqued my curiosity by reporting you had found a vintage bottle of it - I didn't think it was that old!

And it is, indeed, a wet lily - enjoy!

Lol you're right not old but no longer available. Apologies for my inappropriate use of vintage but today it does seem 6 years is a long time in the life of a perfume.
^^ No worries, and no apology necessary - I just wanted to clarify, I didn't mean to school you, lol!
Well, I got my "Pure Poison" This isn't PP..doesn't smell like PP. That sucks!!! It's not PP..great. The seller had a 100% feedback too. Very disappointed. This isn't remotely a Poison. Sucks when you get robbed! Rrrrr!
petruccijc You MUST let us know how the new release is

I love that we have switched over to Daylight Savings time where I live in the U.S.. I'm ready for Spring and the longer days! To celebrate, I purchased Hermes Eau Claire de Merveilles and VC&A Muguet Blanc. The extra 20% off on Fragrancenet was good to me!

I have spilt a bit of cold sweat about my blind buy of a Mitsouko PdT tester, but hey, it arrived and it smells superfresh to me (the color of the jus did look good). I am amazed how much this smells like the current extrait. The sometimes to me icky fruity peach thing (in the extrait) is better counter-balanced here in the PdT. My plan is to layer these two.

Yay! The vintage Diorella FINALLY arrived and smells perfect
post #81 of 159
Today a package arrived. Great! Problem: I forgot I had ordered it, blind buy. Well, I am glad I did. I now have a bottle of Yves Rocher Voile d'Ambre and it's a light ambery oriental with a delightful bitter orange top note I can see myself wearing for many occasions, including work. Glad to see it wasn't that expensive, either

Late night web surfing/shopping/wine drinking could have turned out much worse. This may have to do until I save up for Teo Cabanel Alahine.

Larimar - i got a decant of the PdT recently, and I love it! Its my favorite version so far, although I need to try the vintage extrait again to be sure. I received a PdT tester recently that had gone off badly, so I returned it. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for another one now.

The juice in my decant is a golden honey color. Does it change when it goes bad?
rubegon, Mitsouko is the classic Guerlain I am least familiar with, so the PdT was a blind buy for me, too. You need to try the current extrait, which is really not too different. Yes, the jus turns darker and also I would not want to see any real evaporation. It's a fact that certain notes, aldehydes etc. are more prone to turn than others. Therefore, I think it is nearly impossible to find really old Vol de Nuit extrait that has not turned. I am very picky with this and I have noticed that I can't tolerate turned jus that was pretty okay for someone else. So, yes, light and bright Mitsouko with practically no evaporation. The fact that a box is shown (a white neutral one for testers as was the case with mine) makes it very likely the bottle was actually stored in the box (unless you buy from flacon collectors ).

My days loot from two antique stores I had never checked before:

Eau My Skin by Lanvin in lovely 2 oz bottle with black embossed lid
Surrender in little box
Nahema by Guerlain parfum tiny tiny bottle
Chanel Cologne for Men small sample size
Giorgio gorgeous little sample
Miss Dior in metal perfume holder
Joy crystal flacon empty
Oscar de le Renta miniature eau de toilette and parfum
metal perfume holder: has had Chanel 5 in it: smells lovely!

cutest little pig in the world full of AVON Hawaiian White Ginger of all things...I could not resist.
Design and True Love miniatures
Pot Pourri, Claire Burke--a cologne by a company that makes house fragrances--huh....

I gotta stop.

I am done for a bit with anything except getting some nice vintage Chanels and Guerlains. And a few Bond 9, and some F. Malle, and some...who am I kidding. I am never stopping and love my mixed collection of classics and niches and vintage and just pure lovely piggie junk!

Thanks for the advice, Larimar. I've worn my PdT decant a few times now. I wore it layered with the vintage EdC today. I like it enough to get a bigger decant now. If it is similar to the current parfum, I may as well stay with the PdT until I can't get it anymore. You never see Mitsouko parfum discounted, even on eBay (unlike Shalimar).

Spent my Mothers Day vouchers on EL Jasmine White Moss, which after testing vintage Cristalle this morning is so reminiscent of it.

Also bought a heavily discounted bottle of Idylle Duet Rise Patchouli which I have fallen head over heels in love with

Thanks KarmaLee. If you see either the check version or the ribbed bottle version, buy! Buy! Buy!

Vintage Diorella is a dirty dirty girl, not at all the clean, soapy lemon of her modern daughter

Congratulations, Alityke! How does the Idylle Duet compare to the original? My wife has fallen in like with Idylle - she felt she needed something less dramatic than Shalimar to wear to work. Duet sounds interesting.

The Rose Patchouli Idylle Duet is exactly what it says on the bottle. A luscious rose which lasts for many hours dancing with it's perfectly matched patch partner. I bought a back up bottle today. If you see it get it.

Bottega Veneta. Last year I pulled the trigger on Fan di Fendi as soon as it came out. I enjoyed the scent, and always received compliments whenever I wore it, but once BV was launched I wish I had waited longer and purchased it instead of FdF. Now that I'm at the bottom of my bottle of FdF, I gave myself permission to get BV. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Inspired by Alityke, I bought Idylle Duet. I have been looking for a rose patchouli combination. I loved Portait of a Lady, but I thought it was too loud. I hope I like this.

Sampling, sampling...
I am positively gorging myself. Ordered 10 Guerlain samples from Posh Peasant. I have never sniffed any of them before, so I think I'm in for a treat. Most looking forward to Chamade, Apres Le Ondee, Cuir Beluga and Spirituese Double Vanille. Also, going to try Chanel 31 rue cambon.

Nice buys, everyone! This looks like some good stuff.

I finally broke down and bought a 2 oz. bottle of Alien edp. It should be here sometime this week.

Arwen I do hope you enjoy it, as per my rants I find it stunningly well put together. I should hate to have led anyone astray but I've bought the last two bottles in Sheffield! Be warned though one single tester spray lasted hours and hours on my hand. Right through nursey hand washing too. Too much could easily make it too loud.

Very flatter you were inspired by my love though

Champs-Elysees Guerlain: lovely mini
Benandre: vintage and gorgeous little bottle
Amarige: vintage bottle
Boucheron: vintage mini
Ralph Lauren Glamourous: because it was in a glorious old box
Orchidee: little mini
And last but not least:
AVON Here's My Heart: very old vintage and the best of the lot from today's snooping into odd places.
