Good morning,

No question about it... it's a L'Heure Bleue kind of morning!

*vintage EdP*

Enjoy your Sunday all!

EDIT: Happiest Birthday to rtamara! Now, what's the bottle for your special day?
Good morning all !. Rain here at last, though apparently we need a whole month of it to avoid a drought situation.

Happy Birthday rtamara41.

SotD is Comme des Garcons 2.

Hello all. Wearing Parfums de Nicolai Kiss Me Tender for the second day.

Good Morning,

The glorious sunshine and warmth of yesterday has departed, being replaced with rain. As Jon says though, we do rather need it.

SotD is Chanel Cuir de Russie (EdT). Seems like an age since I last wore this, though it's probably no more than a week. Considering making a coffee and walnut cake later...

Enjoy your Sunday everyone and a big Happy Birthday to rtamara41!

ETRO Ambra for me today.

Happy rtamara day!!!!!
I'm typing from a Kindle or I'd make a much more elaborate display over your very special day.

I wore Jacomo Silences for the first time yesters. Today I'll be decanting Mitsouko edp. Of all the chypres, the original Mitsouko is queen. I'll dip into a bit of the tawny old stuff today, too, to get a high.

Milestones indeed! Lilybelle and Haunani, keep it coming.
Love the photo, Larimar.
Q., up so early? Must been them chypres, I s'pose.

Rtamara -- happy birthday to you dear and many more. Please enjoy your day and tell us what you decide between Lyric and Ganache, willya? (Where else on the net does one find mighty fabulous ladies speaking openly about their age and carrying their years with such poise and ease?)

Had a fine service at the restaurant last night, one of the best in my memory: the whole team joined efforts and helped each other, the food was solid, which all resulted in happy customers and a few kisses. My dogs are still barking (love this expression and always smile while hearing it!) and there are two blisters on my right hand. And a burn on the left. A klutz that I am, moi.

Givenchy III. Not to relax, you know.

A very wet day here. I'm going to brighten it up with Joy parfum.

Shoes and perfume! Happy birthday to me wearing my birthday boots and opened my bottle of 1967 Shalimar extrait today... I must say that I took a whole series of photos prior to opening, close ups of the stopper and different angles of the string, I now know what perfume porn is, my friends. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, I love you guys, very special group of folks. Still deciding about a "proper" full bottle (non ebay) purchase, but the way I figure it, I am wafting in the early drydown of vintage Shalimar, right now, my cup runneth over, yes? The very top was a bit "alcoholy" or petrol like, but now I have to describe it as creamy, almost buttery - vanilla, soft smoke and civet - I've never experienced civet quite like this before, beautifully balanced. Thank you everybody!

Twolf-- ouch! Both hands sore. ((hugs))

Jon, you are smokin' today!

If I could have what I want today it would be to give you all a big cuddle.

I am wearing Linfedele 1003 and Linfedele 1004 by O'Driu today. That Alfarom one made me do it.

Hello everyone!

I'm continuing with the chypres for SnS, and I'm in Sisley's Eau du Soir this morning. This is another one of great beauty and complexity, displaying smoothly blended notes of mandarin, bergamot, rose, jasmine, lily of the valley, carnation, ylang-ylang, patchouli, violet, pepper, juniper, labdanum, oak moss and ambergris.

Happy Birthday rtamara - looks like you're having an excellent day, and you deserve it!.

Happy birthday, rtamara41! Thank you for the photos of your gifts. I must say, I adore your new boots! Hope your day continues to delight.

Wearing YOSH's limited edition (and now discontinued) La Contessa. She used three different sandalwoods in this and it is amazing!

Twolf, careful with those hands, but if your efforts last night are still making you smile, it might be worth a little pain.
Off to tennis in Chanel 28 La Pausa.

Rtamara, Happy Birthday! It looks like your day is off to a great
start, nice birthday gifts! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Hope you feel better soon, Hedonist!

First off, belated congrats to Lilybelle & Haunani! I love reading your posts, both of you!

And Rtamara, Happy Birthday! Love your presents, am envying your Shalimar! Also love your purple nails, those shades look great on your skin!

Finally chypre-d in 31RC. Had an awful mess in the yard from the high winds, still cleaning up. Grateful to still have something to clean up, though.

It started all with a sampling of Chant d'Aromes, which reminded me in its soapiness of Parure (from memory). I found my formerly unloved sample and now I am in love with Parure (deep sigh!). It smells very vintage and dated as a fragrance in today's world (in the best way), but it is so very Guerlain - a stunning chypré with a dark fruity facet and a very sombre base.

Happy Birthday to you, RTamara!!! Those are very beautiful boots!
Larimar, that photo is breathtaking.
Twolf, I've never heard the expression, "My dogs are still barking." ???
I'm in Jolie Madame for the weekend (we're on a short trip and that's all I packed!).
Warm hugs to all.

Happy Birthday, Rtamara!!

I was up all night making these for you...

I hope you are having a lovely birthday. Vintage Shalimar parfum, you smell divine! And what fabulous boots! Many blessings to you this year and always. You are a joy.

I'm wearing Tauer Perfumes' Carillon pour un Ange today, first time sampling from a Basenoter decant. I don't like the woods in the base, which lately always goes too sharp on my skin, but before that happens it smells wonderfully verdant and springlike, even an impression of the soil came to mind. It's really lovely but I just can't do whatever that woodsy base these days.

Yay, it’s Mozart Sunday! Thank you, Jon.

Happy Birthday to you, rtamara!

Still doing the chypres in Sous le Vent. I could hold out on its beauty no longer!

Take care, all.

Happy Birthday Rtamara!!!!

Shoes and perfume are my favorite birthday presents. Enjoy them. I love the idea of Shalimar from the 60s. What a way to celebrate!

I am not wearing any fragrance yet, I will stop by later. This may be the day to try some neglected samples.

SotE is a bath with Ormonde Jayne Woman in it. As I'm anosmic to OJW on me I thought I'd try the warm bath trick to open it up and maybe I'd catch a whiff... Unfortunately nothing, I seem to be truly anosmic to every note in it

Rich woody / herbal scent with an underlying boozy feel which is fairly linear but well balanced and highly bottleworthy. Seems very powerful initially but mellows and quietens down fairly quickly. Some may find it overtly masculine (there are vague similarities to Zino) but I'd consider it wearable by either gender. Good lasting power too - worth it for me.
LUFC, yes 'fraid so - pretty frustrating as we actually played reasonably well for a change. Such is life

Hey y'all -

It's been such a nice day today! The sun's shining and the breeze is cool but you can tell that spring's just about here for good ...one of those days that just makes you want to go outside and smile at people, and pet their doggies! Amblin' around the Quarter with no where in particular to be is one of our favorite ways to pass a Sunday ...especially when there's food involved, and there usually is. And perfume - I just love how a soft breeze can coax a bit more glory out of a five-hours-old spritz, and those final moments of Eau du Soir were glorious, indeed. (Pardon my gushing y'all, I've had a few cocktails and I'm feeling chatty! )

So I'm in Estee Lauder's Knowing now, and, well .....what can I say that we all haven't been saying about the array of magnificent chypres we've been enjoying this weekend? It's gorgeous. And there's apparently pittosporum in it, so it's unique, too. Knowing was created by Jean Kerleo (yeah, that Jean Kerleo) in 1988, and has notes of bergamot, pittosporum, rose, tuberose, plum, patchouli, iris, clove, bay laurel, sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, oakmoss and civet ...among others, lol. It's a big one!

I'm wearing Creed Jasmal today. I was looking through some sample vials and spotted this and it just whispered "wear me" and I couldn't resist. Jasmine smells Spring-like to me and I'm SO in the mood for Spring ...

Sending happy birthday wishes to rtamara

Hope your Sunday is happy and peaceful.

Rene, Happy BDay- Love the prezzies and covet the boots but most of all I like the Photo quality- just beautiful images.

Twolf- restaurant work certainly leads to "barking dogs". Enjoy an epsom salt soak to quiet them, if you haven't already.

I'm still doing Chypres - today is Dioressence EDT vintage

Myself, Miss Balmain layered over Bal a Versailles cologne, which made the BaV just a little less naughty whilst maintaining allure.
