Hi guys,

Im curious about Versace the Dreamer by reading a lot of reviews.
I cant get my hands on any sample in stores so Im gonna blind order a 50 ml bottle from the net.
Is this a good idea?

Fragrances that I like: woody, oriental fragrances, but also fresh fragrances,
Le Male, D&G, Fleur du Male, Fahrenheit 32, Kenzo Tokyo, Jill Sander sun, Dsquared Potion, Ed Hardy, Boss Bottled Night, Boss Orange, Hugo Energise, Jordan by Michael

Basenoters with the same taste as me who know the Dreamer: what do you say?

With your list...not much doubt, you'll love it. BTW the girls love it bigtime !!!!! Sweet with a nice touch of tobacco.

I have to agree

I think you'll like it. It's relatively cheap so if you can't sample it it's worth blind buying in my opinion. A great fragrance. A lot of people hate the opening but I love it.

Although I like many of the same types of fragrances as you, and speaking only for myself, this is one I did not care for at all when I tried it. Didn't like the smell. Hoping your experience is different.

I don't like the first 30 minutes, but then it really starts to shine on me.
I don't get much of the tobacco some get, but I get a very cosy and calming frag........definitely worth a blind buy for that price.
After the 30min-1 hour mark, you'll love it.
Some that you have I like, but some I do not like. Jordan by MJ I actually hate.. That said.. I love The Dreamer, but many others do not. It's not a very safe blind buy.
The opening is bad IMO, but if you like Le Male you have a better chance of liking this. Both have a synthetic vibe I don't care for.
I didn't care for it, but the people who like it generally love it.
I think this one is worth the gamble.

It will always be in my wardrobe
Damn, I am thinking of Blind buying it too. Can't go wrong with $30 for a big bottle I guess. Can always sell it for same price or even more, if I don't like it.
You'll like it if you like Le Male. They have a similar sweet, powdery vibe but The Dreamer is better IMHO. I blind bought The Dreamer and was not disappointed. It's on my Top 10.

its one of those fragrances you will regret not having few years from now when it becomes as rare as patou homme

HAven't smelled it in ages but remember not liking it.
If you dont mind that it smells synthetic you will probably like it.
Some people dislike the opening but this passes after about 30 min

Gets much better after that

I bought this blind in the 30 ml size some time ago. A clean and pleasant scent with a very mild tobacco, if only a bit synthetic smelling.

Dries down to comfortable and clean. ( I adore the bottle!)

Just do it !
Smooth tobacco notes
Not a safe blind buy. Buy some samples of it from the perfumed court or a basenoter.
Welcome!
Based on what you like, you'll like it.

As others have said, the opening is a blast of synthetics that can be harsh. After that, it settles into a nice fresh-linen scent (to me), and finally into a smooth light tobacco with some sweetness. I actually had a co-worker ask if I had just smoked a cigarette one morning (I quit over a year ago) while wearing this. It definitely has a synthetic vibe until the very base, but that's not always necessarily a bad thing. Some compare the sweetness to Le Male, but I think they are different enough to own both (I do!). I quite like this one as a budget fragrance, and for the longevity you get (10+ hours on skin, into the next day on clothes), it's definitely not a bad blind buy. It was my first fragrance I got coming out of the Claibornes and Celebrity frags that I used in highschool, and I will always have a bottle in my wardrobe.

Amazon has the 100ml bottle for $32 with free shipping (sold and shipped by Amazon). Worst case scenario, you sell the bottle for pretty much what you paid if you don't care for it.

Must be what that synthetic note is because I can handle CK Eternity no problem, but not this one.

Im scammed several times buying fake counterfeit knockoff fragrances from eBay.
Is Amazon a reliable website?
I know strawberrynet.com sells genuine products.
Liking Le Male doesn't necessarily mean one enjoys The Stinker.

Amazon should be fine. I'd think it's a bit too cheap for anybody to bother to fake this one.

Amazon.com is a reliable website, as long as in the description, it says "ships from and sold by Amazon.com."

I cant buy from Amazon. I have no credit card :P...
Just figured that out...
I love it. But I would definitely try to get a sample first. I blind bought a couple things from recommendations on here and it didn't quite fit with my style.

Well today I got it!
This scent really reminds me of JP Gaultier Le Male!
But not all notes are in there I can sense the tobacco note and I like the sweetness of the other notes.
But.., the opening is harsh like I was warned for.
Another thing that bothers me is that I don't know for shure if this is an original or counterfeit product, or a new or old stash?
I ordered it from strawberrynet.com where I had a good experience with 4 years ago.
But with this product I just dont know....
Perhaps because I've never smelled this scent before, I can't tell if this is the real deal or not..
And the bottle cap seems to be fragile, I can turn it around.. Is that normal??
Im a little uncertain now ...

What are you'r experiences with Strawberrynet? And how can you tell if this is a genuine product? Somebody?
this one I wanted to love, but hated every second of it, especially the opening. big gamble blind buying this. not nearly as sweet as advertised. harsh opening for sure (not sure if it's the sage or whatever that bothers me, dry, kinda herbal nasty like). Versace Man>The Dreamer imo. that's the kind of sweet tobacco scent that I dig (or Tobacco Vanille, if you like Le Male and like tobacco, this one is gonna blow your mind).

So I blind bought it, and didn't like it, got rid of it in a week.

Its cap is really fragile IMO. See codes on the bottom of the bottle and on the box.

Take a look at this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwYXt0yafF8

Compare it with your bottle, also search for "versace dreamer review" on youtube
There is a lot of reviwers there showing their bottles and boxes of this one, see if yours match with theirs.

Check the serial number on your bottle too, see if it matches the serial on your box.
