Both was released in the same decade, and has that typical green barbershop powerhouse vibes from the 80-ies. Back then it was a competition between these two. I remember I was a fan of Paco Rabanne Pour homme (also the sport version), and my brother loved Kouros. Nowdays, I like and own both. Which one do you think is the best when it comes to quality, smell, sillage, user-friendliness etc?

Vintage Paco Rabanne is the better all rounder than Kouros.

PR is an excellent fougere, undoubtedly one of the best of its genre, but Kouros is just so unique unlike anything else in that category.

I owned both at that time, and most certainly favored Paco Rabanne in all regards.

Both great and both keepers but I prefer Paco Rabanne

I used to use both and always preferred Kouros. (In the 80's)
With the way they smell now I definitely prefer Kouros, PR doesn't smell like it did.

Overall Kouros IMO. More distinctive.

Kouros, it was, is and will be the best.
There are no vintage, pre formulation, 2nd formula, etc, about Kouros. It still the best.

Kouros ....
17 - 3 at the moment

If we're talking vintage versions, I like both equally. Given the current versions I'd have to say I prefer Kouros.

Both are great - but the new formulation of PR is not quite as good as the old one.

Kouros is still the sam good old Kouros - even in the new cheaper all white bottle

Kouros FTW !

I am still so in love with Kouros. It is a gem of a scent. Love it. I have not worn PR PH since having bought Kouros.

Kouros for me!!!

I appreciate & respect Vintage Kouros, but application must be appropriate...light. You cannot apply a lot of it. A classic, no doubt.

However, in my opinion, the best scent ever created for men was Paco Rabanne Pour Homme (Original Vintage formulation). Amazing thing - you can apply a generous amount and it never gets cloying, urinal or over-bearing. You can even reapply to get the gorgeous top notes (and heart) over again while the original application is drying down. Perfection.

A masterpiece that is suitable for anytime, anywhere for doing anything when you want to smell damn good, but with class...it is timeless.

**Please note: Reformulations are not included in my opinion of either scent and I won't waste my time comparing them to the fragrances in their original, true forms.

Cheers.

I have both and love both, but over all, i have to go with Kouros. It stands alone.

Hi Dixie23 -

Welcome to Basenotes - I saw you're a new member. It's a matter of pure, personal preference in scent and how the overall fragrance blends with your body chemistry.

Both, in their original forms, are of outstanding quality and contain ingredients that are now banned by IFRA.

It is subjective to taste - "quality" for both Vintage Paco Rabanne Pour Homme and Kouros is unsurpassed. They are benchmarks in the history of male fragrance.

Owning both is the most logical thing to do...cheers.
