L'essence de cerutti

I just happened to be rather early for a meeting today and thought, why not spend 30 minutes browsing around a local mall which was located next to where my meeting was to be held.
I browsed most of the normal designer fragrances and came across a rather masculine looking bottle that was on display. The name seemed pretty nice, so I thought why not. I fell in love with this scent. I let the top notes dry down a bit and I knew it was a must have for me. Though, I had actually never really heard of it before, which is a shame.

Very masculine and to an extent professional / formal scent. I came home, had my shower etc and put it on to relax for the evening and my wife just loves it. I am so happy to have came across this and thought I would just share my little story here.

L'Essence De Cerutti is just beautiful.

I totally agree!!! I own a bottle and like it a lot. It's not much talked about here on BN. L'EdC is masculin but not overpowering. I'd say it's at the same time quiet (calm strengh) and sophisticated. I find it to be more chypre than leather, on my skin. This scent shows it's complexity in summer heat!

Agree. It's a wonderful scent IMO and glad it's in my collection.

As a point of reference, what other frag(s) could it be compared to?

It can be compared with Baldessarini Cologne for men but L'essence de Cerruti is more potent and longlasting. In style it also falls into L'instant de Guerlain Pour Homme category.

I'd say the leather & spice combination (polished, civilized leather) is quite similar to Everlast 1910 Original (made by the same Antoine Lie) except that it lacks the 'toothpaste' opening.

L'Essence de Cerruti is one of my favourite recently discovered guilty pleasures. It was cheap as chips so my expectations weren't high. What a pleasant surprise when I finally had the chance to try it out.

Don't really like either of these.

Or Dirty English. Cheap scents can get a lot of hype on here at times.

I hate this stuff. Absolutely gross. Even at $20

indeed, and what is surprising is also that Cerruti is not some "cheap" designer house. In terms of quality and bottle design of their scents they easily fall in line with Gucci or Armani.

Wonderfully non-generic and quite complex, also considering the affordable price range, the cost-quality ratio on this one is excellent.
