No fragrance beats Le Male in my opinion..
Or are there fragrances out there that smell better than Le Male?
Aventus beats Le Male.
Aventus smell better than Le Male.
Le Male is a very good fragrance, but it is not the best of all fragrances. I don't think anything is the best of all fragrances.

A better fragrance? Subjective, yes, but I suggest you try Fahrenheit by Dior.

IMO most others beat it.

and that is coming from a "psycho" ?

Le Male is definitely one of the worst smelling fragrance ever!
I can name 100 better fragrances.......but to each there own !
Lot of Le Male talk today...but I find it very hard to believe that anyone who really collects/experiences a lot of fragrances would continue to call Le Male their favorite except for maybe nostalgic/sentimental reasons...there's just so many better out there in my opinion. I can still enjoy it from time to time. I guess it's pretty objective.

Try Guerlain Habit Rouge or Derby. Many other scents better than Le Male.

Try many and you will see.
Is this a joke? There are literally plenty of fragrances that will beat Le male.

You really need to try a few more juices.

There is no "best" fragrance for me. I personally like Le Male and think it's an above average fragrance, but I can name probably a half dozen in my small collection I usually prefer.
try amouage reflection man
Above average fragrance with a very unique bottle IMO. Many fragrances are better, many worse. To each his own.

I own La Male and La Male summer and VERY RARELY reach for them. I only wear it out of pitty. I MUCH rather wear Creed Aventus than La Male. I wouldn't even think twice about it.

Are Creed Aventus and JP Le Male comparable?

Yup...

Le Male and Reflection aren't my style, but Le Male is actually very good, and Reflection is excellent.

Just go hug your Le Male and be happy....

This is like the lady at work who asked me to teach her how to do something on the computer. I said "Right click on that." She said "Whats is "right click"???"
I just walked away.......
Yeah there are many that beat Le Male. But amongst current designer fragrances, it's very good.
Profumum Antico Caruso.
There's no such thing as a better fragrance. It's like saying what is a better color purple or blue. There is, what is the more popular fragrance? LeMale would win many of those match-offs. I don't care much for it or purple for that matter.
Ted Lapidus Altimar is twice as good, because it only half smells like Le Male.

Renato

Who posts this ?

Le Male is far from end all of male fragrances
post #28 of 81
I like le male, but is not very unique, and there are a bunch of similar frags out there with a strong, linear, sweet composition. Rochas Man comes to mind, and if you have one, you don't need the other. Also, the bottle for le male is just dopey.

However, there are TONS of much better frags around imo. I wouldn't even know where to start. So I'll just throw a few out there: noir de noir, tobacco vanille, creed's royal oud or git or smw, guerlain l'instant pour homme extreme, jubilation xxv, chergui, rive gauche, kouros, M7, knize ten, coromandel, dior leather oud, a*men.... it just goes on and on...and I haven't even gotten to the vetivers.
Amongst current designer frags it's really nice, but yeah there are many better frags out there

Why isn't this in the 'Just Starting Out' forum?

I think our suggestions to the OP would be more useful if we compare them to Le Male. It's been awhile since I've smelled Le Male, but Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille seems to pull off the powdery vanilla and tobacco blend in a richer, less cloying manner. And Parfums de Nicolai's New York has a wonderfully blended drydown based around a dryer amber.

I'm sure the rest of you can come up with better suggestions!

Le Male is Definitely the most overrated fragrance ever.

I'm fairly certain almost everything beats Le Male these days. Back in 1996, maybe a different conversation.

Is someone trying to impersonate me?
Yeah...pretty much hate it...BUT that being said, I'm glad that you love it!! I think it's great that everyone has differing opinions and likes and dislikes or else we'd all be the same wearing the same fragrance.
Le Male smells like shit.
Le Male is good. Not the best though. Still good.
Le Male only beats Le Male.
I think you'd have to actually have been born in 2003 to think that...

Oh nooo, please don't recommend him Habit Rouge as a better frag than Le Male
Next you suggest Dior Homme/Intense

Le Male was a trend setter among frags in the 90's and has stood the test of time and made JPG a rich man.....
with that said there are literally 1,000 frags that are better than Le Male.

In my modest collection I find that I have at least 50 frags that I prefer over Le Male - but I still find Le Male is a very nice synthetic frag and probably wear it once every month during the winter and fall..........

I would rate JPG Le Male over-all 8/10 IMHO

Well, "Le Male" beats up on "Fleur de Male"
Let me correct this for you

Le Male is among the most sold frags ever, the list goes like this:

1. Armani Acqua Di Gio
2. Davidoff Cool Water
3. Issey Miyake L'Eau D'issey Pour Homme
4. Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur
5. Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male

C'mon now guys. We all know fragrance is subjective. The only reason this is so hated on is because of its massive popularity and couple of clones. If not, its a great smell that projects and lasts. You guys are acting as if he said that Burberry Weekend is the best fragrance of all time
post #53 of 81
I can't stand Le Male. The "vanilla" is very fake and synthetic smelling. And it's overpowering. But, it seems like a lot of people don't dislike the fake vanilla, because it's in a bunch of other popular fragrances, too. So if it doesn't bother you, more power to you.
You guys can so easily be trolled ...

Hey you - Buberry Weekend is very nice inoffensive office frag, don't bash on that in a Le Male thread

Just kidding - but I do kind of like Burberry Weekend, I wore it a lot some years ago, when I only had 3-4 bottles of juice to choose from
post #56 of 81
le male is ok ,,i had a botlle some years ago..i got boring of it very quickly,,
nothing special here,,

I'm a tad indignant about that statement - I've just finished a 100ml bottle of Weekend Burberry, and have two 100ml bottles and a 50ml bottle in reserve (and the aftershave balm too).

It may not be the best scent - but I think it pretty near the apex!
Cheers,
Renato
