Terre D'Hermes EDT or Parfum?

I want to purchase Terre D'Hermes...but would like to make a decision on which one to get? The EDT or Parfum? I tried the EDT but has not tried the Parfum yet... does it smells identically the same? just stronger?

I would get the parfum if you could first, its a tad stronger and lasts longer

They're not exactly the same. Very similar, but the parfum has several small differences. The parfum is very rich, and generally more woody, but it also has a certain fresh floral note (not geranium, either) which is more noticeable. The longevity of the parfum seems much greater - at least for me.

Honestly, you can't go wrong here. A lot of the hardcores here favor the parfum, but if you're more of an EDT type of person, then you might just want to stick with that. Like most parfums, this one tends to be wear close, but wear strong and long.

I like to wear both at the same time!

To me it is a coin flip between the two. That said, if I were only buying one it would be the edt, as it has better sillage and I find it a bit more versatile (even though they both fit that classification). The scents are very similar, but the pure parfum is a bit earthier/dirtier, wears closer to the skin and has some slightly different top notes. Longevity is the same on me and both excel in that area. Either way you are buying a fabulous scent, so congrats whichever you end up with!

Thanks, Rudi! I was going to say, this question has generated a lot of good discussion already.

Parfum, it just smells "smoother" and easier on the nose.

I prefer the Parfum

I'd go with the Parfum

The Parfum is quite a bit smoother than the EDT. I have the Parfum and a sample of the EDT version. When I did a side by side comparison, the EDT seemed harsher than the Parfum initially. During the drydown they are similar. Can't comment on longevity yet.

I like both

EDT: Slightly more citrus accord to my nose, longevity 7-9 hours
Pure Perfume: Slightly more woody accord, longevity 8-10 hours

I like both, but I prefer the EDT. Mostly becouse It has better sillage and longevity.

I prefer the Parfum- fairly the same notes, but a tad stronger

Backing Oslo-Fjord here. I bought the EDT first, then went for the EDP, but didn't really gel with it. Sold it off to a good friend, and I'm still with my EDT, prefering it for the same reasons as Oslo-Fjord.

Parfum for me. Just got it yesterday. Love both, though.

TdH Edt or Parfum? It's kind of like choosing to end it all with either a shotgun or a bazooka.

Never tried EDP, however there are rumors that EDT is better and has much more followers.

I much prefer the Pure Parfum. It's less citrusy, richer, bolder, sweeter....

They are different, try both.

The edt is more citrusy and, in my experience, has better projection and is less heavy that the parfum. I chose it over the parfum as I can see myself getting tired of the parfum.

I usually prefer the concentrated version (where available) if the scent is weaker by its nature, but not in this case. I think that the EDT is what Jean-Claude Ellena wanted from the start and to my surprise, after repeated tests of both, the Parfum doesn't last any longer (it only starts darker and stronger), at least on my skin!

Parfum is the way to go.

I prefer the Parfum. It feels richer!

This is what I find as well. However, I do find that the EdT doesn't keep for very long on the shelf. After a while it either gets stronger or some of the notes begin to break down. The Parfum is worth owning too though. I get compliments on this fragrance more than anything else!

Try EDT & Pure Parfum...........really I love boTh!
I bought the EDT, but got several samples of the Parfum from Sephora.

Like Redneck Perfumisto, I wear them both at the same time for maximum effect.

Parfum. Slightly woodier and richer.
I have them both and love them both. I use the edt more, but I prefer the pure parfum because it smells richer, seems more "formal". For me it is a tie.
Both, i cant choose and bought both. They are fantastic.

Parfum is richer, closer to the skin with impressive longevity without miss any of the initial potency.
EDT is casual but strong and fresh.

I've heard more people prefer the edp over the edt, only tried the edt a few times though and wasn't to impressed
