Mugler Cologne Appreciation Thread :)

Thread Starter
I typically limit myself to one new fragrance in the fall/winter and one new fragrance in the spring/summer. Yesterday I was thinking about what I'd like for my spring fragrance. My thoughts fell on Mugler Cologne. This used to be a staple in my wardrobe, and a couple years ago or so my supply of it ran out and I never restocked. As soon as I started thinking about it, I decided I needed to make it mine again. I sped to the mall after work and got one of the very last bottles in the whole mall! As I was waiting for a SA to help me, I sprayed some MC onto the back of my hand from the tester bottle. Upon first sniff I was flooded with memories of sweaty summers out on the town, road trips, etc that MC accompanied me on, along with many compliments I got when I wore it. Looking back I really think MC is my most complimented frag!

Spreading the MC love!

Also a fan of this fragrance.

I prefer Creed OV

Love Mugler Cologne. Once I sampled it I bought the biggest bottle they make.

Need this, have a sample on the way thanks to a BN member

Big fan of Mugler cologne too. In fact, I'm going to wear it when I go to Hawaii this summer

MusT HaVe IMO!

MC is definitely a very nice scent

For Cologne (traditional cologne, edc, colonia, colognia, etc) lovers like me, its one of the best of all time.

Creed OV is fantastic too, but for me MC is more "wearable." Like I can spritz some MC on and go about my day, but when I wear OV there's this constant reminder that I'm wearing a fragrance. I know that's not a good description lol.

I love Mugler Cologne, and it's currently my most worn scent in my collection. I don't have a signature scent, but if I was going to, MC would probably be it. It's just amazingly refreshing, clean, energizing, and works year round for any occasion. I also own Creed's Original Vetiver, and it's ok, but Mugler Cologne is far better to me. (I dislike that "rooty", "dirty earth" note in the base of O Vetiver). MC is much "cleaner". Highly recommended!

Love it. It's my second most worn scent behind Caron PuH

Isn't MC an EDT though?

It smells really good on my wife - so far I've bought her a 125ml bottle and a 300ml refill.
I know it's meant to be unisex, but I always felt it lacked something for men. Creed Original Vetiver had that something for me.
Regards,
Renato

I hear ya! Dont get me wrong....MC is fantastic but I already own OV so I couldn't justify having 2 similar scents : )

I'm wearing it at work today and have already gotten 3 compliments and it's barely past noon!

Renato - that's a good description, too!

It's good. Not one of my favourites but I do keep a small bottle.

I fully agree with this thread. Mugler Cologne is one of the few designer EDC of niche quality
post #19 of 37
I think that its much more on the masculine side of the unisex genre.

Love, love, love it! Most definitely in my top 3 from Thierry Mugler.

Love Mugler Cologne! Amazing freshness! I normally break this guy out once spring is coming around..

One of the first things I noticed when spraying from my new bottle was that the atomizer sounded the same as the old one. It has a distinct sound...and I can't really describe it. All the while I was using MC in the past, I poured the juice from a 10oz bottle into a 4oz bottle and that lasted me YEARS, and my new bottle sounds exactly the same. That was surprising! Anyone else know what I'm talking about?
I like its top and middle notes, but there's something annoying to me in the base.
It's a great scent. Slightly on the feminine side for a cologne styled fragrance but completely wearable for a man.
It really is a great scent, although it goes into some weird drydown on my skin which is still surprisingly pleasent smelling

+1

I have and like both, but... OV is 'richer', but this is one of those cases where 'less is more'. OV's drydown goes all 'bug spray' on me if the weather gets warm, whereas MC keeps that fresh, transparent soapiness for a good long time. Besides, with MC costing a fraction of OV's price, the choice is easy.

That said, these are about the soapiest pefumes I've ever smelled.

I'm a big fan also.....A very good fragrance for sure!!!

Only bottle of perfume I've ever finished, *and* I bought a replacement!
I love it. It works on any occasion.

I really need to buy this.

I was thinking, how can Thierry Mugler keep getting summer scents wrong, with Pure Shot being the latest, when Mugler Cologne is meant to be so great? I've been procrastinating for a while now on Mugler Cologne.
Also much prefer Creed Original Vetiver for this genre. But Mugler Cologne is alright too.
Mugler Cologne is VERY similar to Original Vetiver, however given the choice I'd go with OV.

I thought Ice Men was pretty good.

It's in the same ballpark, but MC is way thinner, cleaner and ozonic. Whereas OV is fuller, greener and more substantial (for a light fragrance).

What kind of longevity do y'all get with Mugler Cologne?

Longevity on me is fairly good, however it does wear close to the skin unless you bathe in it.

Tried this for the first time today. Really liked it.
