Le Male "clones"

Did multiple searches on scents that are similar to Le Male. I'm not looking for a Le Male clone, as some threads mention "Perry Ellis White 360 is the same as Le Male but cheaper". This isn't a money issue. I like that almond barbershop thing that Le Male has, but would like a frag with that essence but with a twist that gives it more uniqueness (I like Le Male and own it already, btw).

Some have mentioned the Perry Ellis noted above. Is it different enough to have in addition to Le Male?
What about Cuba Gold ? Different or copycat?

I am also interested in Panama 1924 by Boellis, and don't hear about it much. Worth trying ?

Don't know about the one listed on the bottom of your post, but for me, Bruce Benson by Jeanne Arthes reminds me of Le Male.

Versace Dreamer is worth a look.

Fahrenheit 32 might also be worth looking into. Not my thing but others like it.

+1 for Fahrenheit 32. It's kinda reminiscent of Le Male but is more floral (it has a really strong orange blossom note with a bit of an aquatic/ozonic feel at top, but then dries down to a vanilla base). Also, like Le Male, it is incredibly strong & can be cloying if you spray very much of it.

As far as Perry Ellis 360 White, I own it & Le Male & do find them quite similar. The difference I see is 360 White has more of that barbershop talcum type feel with less mint/cumin at the top and less vanilla in the base. It doesn't change as much & is kinda reminiscent of Le Male's middle for the whole life of the scent. Sometimes Le Male's vanilla base can become a bit cloying. I don't get that with 360 White. So I would say 360 White would be a better choice for warmer days.

Cuba Gold is worth trying- it is a similar style to Le Male but I wouldn't say it is a copy. It is also less cloying and potent than Le Male

I like this lightness because it allows me to have a Le Male like scent on warmer days when Le Male would be overpowering.

And it's only $10 for the large bottle!

Fahrenheit 32 by Christian Dior - This fragrance bears no resemblance whatsoever to its namesake Fahrenheit. The opening is a refreshing whiff of clean greenness, with faint specks of refreshing mint and fruity coconut, carried on nascent vanilla. Drifting to a lovely, floral middle, a sharp and crisp neroli and a wisp of vetiver wrestle with the menthol and strengthening vanilla, imparting a sweetness and powderiness to the mixture. The overpowering base, with its fully developed vanilla, and attendant sweet and powdery aura, takes control and leads to its comforting drydown. This high quality composition is unique, and has average longevity and projection.

Have you tried Polo Double Black, and if so, how does that compare to what you are seeking?

Britto Man is similar. A bit different but maybe not different enough for what you have in mind.

I would give Profumum's Antico Caruso a sample. Somewhat pricey but it may be what you're looking for. I'm not crazy about this type of scent (creamy, almond, vanilla) but while I can't wear LeMale, I could see myself wearing Antico Caruso.

I have Cuba Gold and find it quite similar. Have you tried JPG's Fleur du Male? I actually like it better than Le Male. Another fragrance that reminds me of Le Male without being a clone is L'Occitane's Eau des Baux.

try amouage reflection man

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Is Fleur de male as popular and recognizable as Le Male. Hate to say it but the obvious downside of Le Male, for those of us that love the scent, is the popularity of it. Since FDM is also by JPG and mainstream, is it as easily recognizable?

Cuba Gold has similarity in style, though it's somewhat linear in comparison.

Ted Lapidus Altamar always struck me as half Le Male crossed with half Silver Shadow.

But if it's particular notes you are after, you may find them in Gaultier squared or Fleur de Male which all have a similarity in some of their notes to Le Male.

LL Au Masculin, Body Kouros, 212 Sexy Men, L'Occitan...

Give Amouage Reflection Man a try as well as Xerjoff Oesel. Both are niche versions of Le Male in my opinion.

Funny you should mention that. I'm wearing Black Soul today (which I like *much* better than Altamir), and I thought it has a slight powdery sweetness that Le Male is known for, but has some spice, raisin, and wood notes as well. And it doesn't create a cloud around you like Le Male can. Black Soul is perhaps on the understated side, but longevity seems to be a bit above average. I got a large tester bottle for $22USD shipped. Worth checking out.

Cuba Gold is similar to Le Male

I think that Reflection Man is a better scent than LeMale

To me Cuba Gold is very much like "Le Male". So much so in fact, that if you wear it and people recognize the smell they would probably ask you if you are wearing "Le Male". Same with a lot of the above mentioned. I would think it would be very hard to find something so close but yet different enough that people would not know what it is. Good luck.

Cuba Gold for $5 at Perfumania is a near dead ringer.

I think YSL Body Kouros has a different take on JPG Le Male. Le Male has that mint top with the vanilla dry down. Body Kouros has Eucalyptus top with Vanilla drydown. Although the top notes can be a bit harsh, the dry down is much better in my opinion.
