Wear the fragrance after you get the job.

Don't take the chance. Do not wear any fragrance.

GIT, everybody likes GIT. Even fans of Cool Water!

I wore Rose 31 to an interview a few months ago... also government... thought I did so-so... Didn't even make the top list for a second interview! I would go with "nothing".

No fragrance?

Why is perfume such a taboo in the US?

I voted for R31.

Hmmm, seems to be GIT or nothing. Maybe I'll compromise and wear just 1 spray of GIT, hehe. Or I might go with none. Thanks for the feedback.

none ... if not, just a smidgen of Sycomore
post #14 of 32
Yep, I'll go with 1 spray from GIT too, seems like anyone wearing too much cologne anywhere can be offensive, good luck on your interview though!!
I'd do 2 sprays of GIT. But Im effing badass.

Light application of IB

From your collection: go Sycomore!

Pure Coffee or Terre D'Hermès: two sprays only.

Tweed or Barbare.

Always amazes me that people are afraid to wear a fragrance to an interview.

It is merely an extension on ones personality and you can wear any fragrance you like, simply be aware of how trigger happy you should be with certain powerhouses.

In essence wear whatever you like, and preferably the fragrance that adds to your overall confidence, just go light if you look at somethnig like Tobacco Vanille or others with strong projection. One spray to the chest rather than two on the neck will give you confidence, perhaps even comfort you whilst being non-offensive.

I chose the no fragrance option because, though I am impressed by your fragrance wardrobe, I guess a neutral scent would work best for a job interview

Good luck!
´None of course.

GIT, Original Vetiver or nothing.

I alternate between GIT and OV. Both smell good, but aren't loud or rude.

Nothing is also good for an interview. Never know what other people will think.

Go with Green Irish Tweed or Millesime Imperial considering they are both very safe and pleasent smelling.

It may be that perfume sends off so many subliminal messages to alot of Americans. Sadly, this can feed into our need to "box" and "categorize" others sometimes in a most unfair and inaccurate manner based on something as innocent as a fragrance. Outward signs and cues hail supreme here : think new world smiles ....also the power of the bumper sticker to move those around you.

What's a new world smile?

That fixed or invented smile that has nothing to do with true feeling but rather an attempt to avoid any suggestion of being negative or lacking an "Apple pie" sweetness to others.

I'd go Aventus from your collection, from your list GIT. I have a few of the ones you've listed and the only one I'd avoid at all cost would be Encre Noir. Smells great but I think it's too polarising. FWIW I wore TdH at my most recent interview and I've got through to the last 2 for a VP role so that's probably not too bad a choice...

I would go with no fragrance or just one small spray for yourself...

Sycomore from your collection!
