New Fragrances: L’Eau 2 Kenzo pour Homme and pour Femme

Kenzo introduces two new versions of the successful fragrances L'Eau par Kenzo from 1996 and L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme from 1999, named LEau 2 Kenzo pour Femme and LEau 2 Kenzo pour Homme. Water as the symbol of freshness and pureness is the basic motivation for these new editions, inspired by summer adventures in a big city like Rome. The new fragrances are spontaneous, lively and intimate.

LEau 2 Kenzo pour Femme is a sparkling, energetic and airy feminine scent created by Daphne Bugey of flowery, fruity and aquatic aromas. The composition plays with notes of peach and lemon on top, rose, freesia and lotus in the heart, and tones of cedar and white musk in the base.

Top notes: lemon, peach
Heart: rose, lotus, freesia
Base: cedar, white musk

LEau 2 Kenzo pour Homme is a citrusy fragrance signed by perfumer Sonia Constant. Bitter freshness in the top is provided by accords of ginger, grapefruit and bitter orange. Notes of lavender and juniper berry are located in the heart, laid on the woody base of vetiver, cedar and spruce.

Top notes: ginger, grapefruit, bitter orange
Heart: lavender, juniper berries
Base: vetiver, spruce, cedar

Both fragrances are available in quantities of 30, 50 and 100 ml in Eau de Toilette concentration.

The PH sounds like taking the original formulation Dior Homme Sport in an evergreen woods direction.

But then isn't the Kenzo Homme Sport they announced a few weeks ago supposed to be another Grapefruit, Ginger, Vetiver concoction (and by Francois Demarchy who did DHS in the first place).

Odd. I'll have to sample both I guess, if only to check to see if one is redundant!

I wonder if they're worth trying. They seem to be aquatic scents, which I personally can't stand...

Disliked and finally got rid of my bottle of the first one from a failed blind buy when it first came out years ago (that smelled like bathroom cleaner). While the notes don't look too bad on the new one, I won't be on the hunt for it, that is for certain...

For sure! When I test it I'll send you a mail. IMO Kenzo has some good stuff. I'd buy L'Eau Par Kenzo if it lasted longer and had better sillage.

My thoughts exactly. No way will I buy this without a severe endurance skin test.

That said, Kenzo fragrances are always a surprise. With Power being one of the best florals around, Tokyo being a ridiculously weak heart on a too-strong guaiac base (I love it, but it's just odd), and the new "Woody" Homme being a minty woody amber and vetiver which lasts for days on skin and weeks on any other surface, I never know what to expect next.
