Hi, alfarom, I checked out your fascinating website. I copied the URL and it will take me a few hours/days to read all. Your music selections have a powerful beat.

I got the idea of scents/visuals/music from PerfumeShrine where Elena Vosnaki frequently illustrates her articles that way. Like for instance with Caron - Poivre. That piece of music (Bach - Double Violin Concerto in D Minor) I can listen to over and over again, with that repetitious beat. Here is the link:

http://perfumeshrine.blogspot.com/search?q=caron+poivre

I have a few more things I put together and will post them each day another one.

Thanks, kalli, for your contribution, we shall keep this thread going. The reason that your images came out small is, that you have to take out the tiny hook in the box underneath the URL field, after you have pasted the URL, something like "retrieve locally". Just unhook that, and the image will appear large.

mm, you have lots of stuff there i used to listen to a lot in the nineties (and still do.) slint, dub, leftfield electronics like basic channel, ambient (i was a huge aphex twin fan in his early years) and so on. i wonder what else you are listening to, but i don't want to stray too much off-topic, especially since this is a nice thread. but you could drop me a p.m. if you wish.

Thank you. I will explain publicly. Sometimes, I hear a piece of music and the scent comes to mind, and then it is easy to find something visual - via google in the internet. The anchors are the scent or the piece of music.

It just compels me to put these three levels SCENT-VISION-MUSIC together. Sometimes, the trip starts out one way, and on the road there are new ideas creeping in sideways. It is very relaxing, like knitting is repetitious, and in the end, a piece of work comes out.

Nothing is really originally from ME. A perfumer creates the scent with his vision, and I interpret it as my fancy hits me, find a visual on the internet, and somehow the brain delivers the suitable piece of music. Remember that both perfume and music drive on accords. The brain links easily a scent with a piece of music. It just jumps out, and then I put it together.

I hope that more members follow this thread and lay down posts with THEIR interpretations.
