COCONUT - what are your favorite coconut scents for men

1. Creed - Virgin Island Water
2. Marc Jacobs for Men
3. Tom Ford - Black Orchid
4. Bond No 9 - Fire Island
5. David Beckham - Intimately Beckham Night
6. David Beckham - Signature Summer for Him
7. Calvin Klein - Obsession Night for Men
8. Paul Smith - London
9. Diptyque - Philosykos
10. Dolce & Gabanna - The One
11. Comptoir Sud Pacifique- Vanille Coco, Coco Extreme, Coco Figue
12. Bath & Body Works - Coconut Lime Verbena
13. Hermes Sur de Nil
14. Tommy Bahama - Set Sail
15. Givenchy Pi Neo
16. Avon - Tomorrow
17. Hesperides - Essenze di Mezzanotte
18. Vittoria Apuana - Profumi del Forte
19. Yves Rocher - Coconut

I prefer the coconut in high-end fragrances like Virgin Island Water. I can not smell any coconut in Paul Smith London or Obsession Night, or D&G The One.

The fig/coconut notes smells great in Philosykos and Marc Jacobs. I dont care for the other fig fragrances from Hermes and other houses.

I wish I could find another high-end, coconut-centered fragrance, like VIW.
Just coconut without the lime.

Creed Sublime Coconut would be amazing

Coco Extreme by CSP
Yeah that Diptyque - Philosykos, just one big giant coconut.
The only coconut note I enjoy is in VIW and that's because it's mixed in with the lime, rum, and sugar to give it the tropical cocktail smell.
If you like VIW, you should give Aramis Bermuda Tonic a try. It's all about coconut, eucalyptus and rum.

Set Sail St Barts is my other favourite with coconut.
If I enjoyed coconut it would be Batucada.
Vittoria Apuana - Profumi del Forti
Out on a limb here, but Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder is one that I have always enjoyed and have never been told it smells like a women's fragrance. Reminds me a lot of the Coppertone Suntan Oils from my childhood.. which could be why I like it But for real, give it a try

Premier Figuier by LArtisan has a beautiful milky coconut IMO. It also has a fig note though, so you probably won't like it.
Not a coconut fan, but it is well rendered in Serge Lutens' Un Bois de Vanille.

Frederic Malle - Carnal Flower is one I forgot to mention.

My favorite rendition of coconut is in VIW. I wish they could isolate that note and sell it as a high-end coconut scent. There are too many car-freshner, sweet, cheap, synthetic roo deodorizer type coconut scents out there. I find them either too sweet and sugary, or too dry and leafy. The coconut in VIW is the raw, fresh, fleshy white inner part of the coconut which I go crazy for. There is nothing else like it... so far.

Sean Jean Unforgivable Black.

However, none of these are stricly coconut.

It has to be Virgin Island Water but after I tried it I just call it Island Water.lol
post #16 of 72
Coconut is Virgin Island Water, Virgin Island Water is Coconut
post #17 of 72
Only one coconut fragrance ever does it for me and that's Hesperides by Essenze di Mezanotte. It's an Italian unisex EDP
post #18 of 72
I wouldn't call Philosykos a coconut scent, but from your list I would choose this one!
Viw
I'm scratching my head on the scents you have listed.

My bottle of Esprit Night Life Summer Edition Man I'd call a coconut scent, with a lot more coconut in it than 9 of your first 10 listed scents (I don't know one of them).
Regards,
Renato

Definitely VIW, I didn't even realise there was coconut in The One...

That's because there is not coconut in the one. But the notes together seem to have a coconut vibe.

Marc Jacobs For Men blends it well.
Out of what I've tried, Virgin Island Water tops the coconut charts, followed by Carnal Flower, Batucada, and then Premier Figuier Extreme.

I'd like to say that a few on there I get no coconut at all from, black orchid, jardin sur le nil, and with philosykos I think people get the fig confused with coconut, still a heavenly scent.

Virgin Island Water is my favorite coconut frag. The whole composition is beautiful and just works amazingly with my skin's chemistry.
Exactly what he said. I only had a small sample of this but I loved it. Will buy a full bottle hopefully soon.

Virgin Island Water is my favorite coconut perfume. I am going to buy a full bottle when I finished my MI.

Thanks. Virgin Island Water is my favorite coconut-based scent; however, I wish Creed would isolate the coconut note and sell something along the lines of Sublime Vanille.

The ultra-refined high quality vanilla in Jaipur Homme makes me wish there was a similar high quality coconut dominated scent of similar quality.

I know I'm dreaming
I am gonna re sample VIW now that the weather is getting warmer to see if the longevity is any better on my dry skin.
Creed VIW
Philosykos fulfills my coconut needs, but then I like fig scents.
Don't have a coconut fragrance not to my knowledge I see some are mentioning D&G The One...I get somethin else tropical rather than coconut tho.

I have tested Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc / White

Definitely a Coconut and tropical vibe actually this is a pretty pleasant fragrance. I don't own it and probably won't due to it's poor longevity and I feel it is over priced severely.
VIW ofc. And fig based scents like Dior Dune Pour Homme.
Also love the coconut note in Allure Homme.
I can't believe no one has mentioned Turtle Vetiver Front. It has a really plush coconut note that is not syrupy or cloying--like raw coconut meat as opposed to suntan lotion. I enjoy this note in Santal 33, too.
Ava Luxe has a perfume named Black Coconut. I've never tried it though, so I'm not sure if it's feminine, masculine, or unisex.
Virgin Island Water (wearing it today).

Wearing it now and quite enjoying it. Longevity isn't very good, but the first hour or so is tremendous - such smoothly blended coconut, lime, rum, banana, aquatic, skin scent. So smooth that, although the pyramid reads like a tiki bar special, it goes far beyond smelling like a cocktail. Just beautiful, IMO, though I've come to expect that from L'Artisan.

In the fig/coconut section, I enjoy Hermès Santal Massoïa the most.

where is Cuir Mauresque?

beautiful milky coconut in it......... yumm

I love me some Philosykos
From this list, I can only relate to, in terms of seconding as a favorite, with Calvin Klein Obsession Night for Men
post #46 of 72

Susanne Lang - Vanilla Coconut

listed as smelling very fem on luckyscent, but to me it smells no more feminine than any other coconut fragrance.

Agree with your assessment. Another worthy coconut scent.

I have a new found favorite coconut fragrance, it's called Coconut Vanilla by Island Bath & Body. I recently purchased it while I was in Hawaii. It's my SOTD. Longevity & sillage is pretty good, it's been about 11 hours and I can still smell it on me. Especially can't complain considering it's perfume strength and only cost me $18 for a 1.6 oz bottle. Their website says it's concentrated 25% fragrance. It can be found online for around $30 (price includes s/h).

It opens with a strong burst of coconut and dries down to coconut & vanilla. Plus, I don't think anyone has really heard of this fragrance, at least not on Basenotes.

Creed VIW is nice too, but I get more lime than I do coconut.

Isn't the 1.6 oz. perfume bottle for women? They have a 3 oz cologne spray for $15.99

i wonder if the cologne is for men and the perfume for women, or is it just a difference in strength?

I am not fond of fruit notes, but Hermes' Voyage struck me as pleasant enough.
From the few ones I know: Obsession Night Men.
Virgin Island Water
Not a fan of coconut. It's the main reason I don't care for VIW. Thankfully I've never gotten a coconut vibe from The One.
I tried VIW yesterday for the first time and I'm already a big fan. Very similar to Marc Jacobs Man and also Bronze Goddess. All very nice 'spent the day on the beach' type scents.
I just bought VIW for this summer, and I have to say, it's far better on skin than on paper. I never really gave it the testing that it deserved before buying it. On skin, it just keeps coming back, and the balance is nicer, deeper, and richer. On paper it smells a bit less like a perfume and more like a fragranced body product. But on skin it's definitely coming across as a high-end fragrance. Glad I bought it.
I love VIW and I know it is often compared to Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Verbena & Coconut Lime Breeze, but I also have another "cheapie", body spray that I love for coconut. It's sold at Walgreens in the U.S. and is called "Coconut Coast" by Details Bath and Body. It's a sweet vanilla based coconut scent comparable to several from BBW, but I honestly think this one is much nicer. So if you are looking for a cheap coconut/vanilla ice cream type vibe, give this one a shot for $5.
I'm generally not a fan of this note. In fact, I'd prefer VC&A Tsar without it.

I agree with you that Creed Virgin Island Water is 90 % LIME with very little (faint) coconut; however, both the Perfume and Cologne versions of Island Bath & Body coconut are marketed solely towards women (when I found them on Amazon and ebay).

Luckyscent marketed Profumum Dolce Acqua as "leaning" slightly feminine; however, it is totaly 100% feminine in my opinion, and with NO coconut.

I guess what some people tolerate as feminine is in the eye of the beholder. I could never wear Black Orchid, yet some people (guys) get mad if you mention it's too feminine. On the other hand, some guys think Givenchy Pi is too feminine... even though it's marketed towards men. And Givenchy Pi is one of my signature faves! Go figure.

I also found on Amazon a "Honey Coconut" perfume by Love & Toast.
