I would like to mention the excellence of Services provided by Place Vandome in Belgium - Wevelgem.
I was helped by Daphne, she was extremely helpful answering my questions, and dispatching Cuir de Russie very quickly.
Product was carefully packed and they were extremely generous on regards to samples, I have been granted with the best services you could possibly expect.
I have found a video showing their Store (Video is in French, however even if you don't speak French, I know for sure that these images will fill your eyes with joy) and I am amazed with their exquisite fragrance range.
I hope to be visiting their treasure store soon. Have a nice weekend all!

I love the way he casually mentioned the semi bespoke guerlain is 70,000 euros !!!!!!

I bought Amber Absolute today and the Tom Ford rep threw in three 4 ml samples of my choice. I went with Neroli Portofino, Arabian Wood, and Lavender Palm. She also gave me a ziplock bag full of designer samples, a Tom Ford fragrance catalog book, and a Nordstrom mirrored vanity vase. I easily got over $100 of goodies with my purchase so today was a good day!

Not exactly today, but very recently a vintage Fahrenheit sample form ebay. Haven't seen any vintage bottles for a while. A four oz bottle of Aspen...for $12.99 it's surprisingly close to GIT. And yesterday a 1 oz bottle of Mustang at TJ Maxx.

... I fall in love with this strange honey. Am I crazy when thinking that this scent reminds me of ELDO Secretions Manifique? ...

... Serge new L'eau. Frozen incense ...

... New ELDO has citrus, rice, floral notes, and musc. It is emotional, and beautiful ...

Hi MrAndySais, would you kindly give a short review for that fragrance? Would love to hear how aquatic and cocoa come together. Thanks!

Cuir Mauresque (Serge Lutens) always makes me think of L'Heure Bleue Extrait, strangely enough.
31 Rue Cambon (Chanel) been meaning to pick this one up for a while.
Samsara (Guerlain) happy to find a 30ml EDP so I can get to know this one better - synth sandalwood but not too bad.

Shiseido gave me a sample of Eau Froide, which is harmless enough, and got a Sycomore sample from Chanel which is nice.

Just picked up a slightly used 75 ml bottle for about 15 usd. I'd say there is something like 60 ml left. I guess 15 usd for that can sound kind of expensive, but in Norway, this 75 ml costs over 100 usd at a store. Go figure ...

I couldn't decide between this, Tobacco Vanile or Creed Original Santal. Ended up with the Arabian Wood for now but Santal is my next pick up

Great Choices Mr. Reasonable! Samsara is one of its kind, IMO a very warm and luxurious Sandalwood.
I have managed to grab a sample of Sous le Vent (As I have reasons to believe you're a great fan of this one) and I must say that it is a very interesting scent, couple of months ago I have smelled the former in one store here in Den Haag, however it was busy there, and some gorgeous perfumes as such, should be discovered with time, therefore my decision to start sampling this pretty, within the comfort of my place (so I really can take the time necessary to understand it, etc.)
Take care

Merci bono

Amongst Guerlainistas Samsara tends to get shoved aside a bit but when put up against the few niche sandalwood offerings out there I think it stands it's ground just fine, really glad to finally have a bottle!

Good luck with Sous le Vent, I think with all the reformulations going on as companies fall into line with IFRA SlV is one of the few left with some life in it. I am hoarding this one as I don't see it can escape a bullet for much longer. The latest one I am aware of was 0W01, from Sept. 2010, I believe. The other SlV thread has details of the two 2009 versions.

Tom Ford Extreme @ Nordstrom. Pretty much a total whim purchase - I've had a sample for a while that I really liked. Went in there to buy a shirt, and see what happens? No shirt, btw...

I've been on a green kick this week!

  • Aramis Devin - $18 new from perfumania. I love this fragrance and FINALLY dropped money on a full bottle.
  • Lagerfeld Jako - $12 in original plastic wrap from thrift store. I'm really not a fan of this one at all. Cloyingly synthetic.
  • Raphael Replique - $10 in original plastic wrap. I can't get enough of this awesome chypre!
  • EL Private Collection - $43 at the local commissary. Great deal on my very favorite floral fragrance(Chrysanthemum and Hyacinth in a CHYPRE FRAGRANCE = TRUE LOVE).
  • EL Estee Super Perfume - $15 thrift find sealed and unused. This contains more fragrance than alcohol. It is the strongest perfume I've ever encountered in my life, period. A really teeny dab on my ankle and I'm enveloped by florals. Extremely different from the cologne spray.
  • Carven Ma Griffe - $20 thrift find, also sealed in original wrap. A gloriously perfect dark green floral chypre with an incredible natural cinnamon/iris accord that really gives it its own personality. My favorite thrift find of the month.
  • Azzaro Silver Black - $20 TJ Maxx. Worse than I expected, but not horrible. I probably would never wear this, sadly.

Kenzo Signature/Once Upon a Time Pour Homme just arrived today.

Definitely bought this blind because I really like the bottle and packaging. Sprayed some on a piece of paper and it seemed interesting enough. I must've gotten some on my hand because fifteen minutes later, while taking out the trash, I caught the drydown and it stopped me in my tracks. Gonna give this a full wearing tomorrow!
