I'm not sure if this belongs in the DIY section, as this pertains to modifying existing fragrances. Admins, feel free to reclassify this post as is suitable.
My basic question is, would there be or does there exist techniques for softening up the top notes in an existence fragrance, without completely ruining it?
The impetus of me asking this question, is that while I do like the heart and dry down of the current P&G Old Spice, the powdery top is a bit much for my liking.
I assume just leaving the fragrance to sit uncovered for a period of time would be one way, but I'm not exactly sure for how long one would do that for, or if that may cause it to spoil, or if there are better more expedient methods.
Anyway. Hopefully some of you are interested in answering these questions.
