Acqua di Gio fake?

Hi, I received as ghift one bottle of Acqua di Gio. I have some suspicions that would be a fake: the serial number on the box (38F405 - April 2009 on checkcosmetic.net) does not fit with serial number of the bottle (UV215 - 3 of August, 2010) and in front of glass has some air bubbles.

So it is a fake or not?
Thanks.

There is a misspelling on the box: "Avoid sprayin in eyes". That, along with mismatched codes, would make me guess fake. The only real test, though, is how it smells.

Air bubbles, wrong codes, misspelled words. Sorry it is fake. AdG bottle are some of the best faked bottles out there. Nearly perfect. They probably make millions of dollars a year selling those so they can afford to produce very high quality fakes.

Wow that's a pretty good fake.

I'm sorry to hear about your fake. It's a very convincing looking bottle and box for sure. Whoever made it knows what they're doing. What does it smell like?

Smells just like I remember Acqua di Gio , I tested twice last year. The longevity on my wrist sucks, about 3 hours.
I found another misspelling : "NICJT AUF IRRITIERTE"

Yea, that is a really good fake... I think the lettering on the bottle looks a little darker than mine, the air bubbles are suspicious, and the cap looks a little cheaper on the edges. But if it smells the same...man I hate fakes. Makes me question some of my purchases for no good reason.

Sad, but true.

If it smells good and lasts more than 4 hours, so its fake

Just get your money back to make sure, and don't buy popular fragrances on ebay that are regularly faked (i.e. AdG, Chanel products, etc.)

the longevity issue and even the smell could have other causes (how many current reformulations smell and last as they used to? - or the storage factors, etc), but I'm afraid that the other "clues" lead to a fake product, IMO! Sorry!
