Ten most masculine niche scents

Hello fellow BaseNoters!

I am working on a shopping list on niche scents.

Down here, the offering of such kind of fumes is quite limited. For instance, a local distributor sells some Creeds, but not Bois de Portugal; it also sells some Goutals, but not the most interesting ones, like the ones included in Les Orientalistes. The offering of Bond and JHaG is quite complete, but these are not akin to my tastes. Chanel sells its Les Exclusifs line, but except for Sycomore and Russian Leather, I find them too femenine.

So the question is which ten niche scents would you recommend as being the most masculine ones?

I am thinking of the following ones:

1. Villoresi's Incenso,
2. Sandalo,
3. Uomo
4. Spezie,

5. Creed's Bois de Portugal,

6. MPG's Parfum D'Habit
7. MPG's Santal Noble

8. Mazzolari Lui

But would like to add to the list something else by other Houses, like Parfumerie General, Parfums D'Empire or Patricia de Nicolai.

You must as well suggest others (and do aside the ones previously mentioned if you think they are not "ballsy" enough) provided complexity is one if the main characteristic of your suggestions.

Thanks in advanced!

PdN's New York is probably one, but it's similar to Creed's BdP.

Nos. 3, 5 and 7 on your list are all excellent. If you can get Tom Ford's line there, also try TF Extreme for Men.

I second many of the ones suggested by previous posters. PdN New York used to be the reference, but note that Luca Turin claims it has been watered down by IFRA regulations - I haven't smelled the recent one. I know little of PdE or PG, but I greatly enjoyed the green masculine Eau de Gloire. In your list, I own, and love, Mazzolari Lui.

My list of butch niche frags:
Knize Ten (elegant, but butch, ambery leather)
Tauer Air du desert marocain (dry, incensy, woody)
Le Labo Patchouli 24 (explosion at chemical factory)
Etat Libre d'Orange Rien (bitter leather)
Etat Libre d'Orange Je suis un homme (classical citrus-woods-leather-resins)
Kurkdjian Absolue pour le soir (musky leathery)
Lutens Muscs Koublai Khan (musky dirty)
Tauer Lonestar Memories (phenolic woody)
Dior Leather oud (as per name)
Goutal Sables (helichrysum)

It pops up now and then on ebay and on the sales thread here. I haven't found a reliable place online to purchase it.

I don't understand this...In Style magazine named this one of the top 10 men scents too (most were the usual designer ones..as somewhat expected)...man this stuff just comes across as a floral powdery incense bomb that just seems too feminine. Hrmm ill put it into open testing next week but thats my take on it anyway.

Frank Los Angeles 2, my first niche bottle and sort of a best-kept secret fragrance. I don't see it mentioned a lot. Definitely masculine.

I agree. A great masculine scent.

Off the top of my head and without looking at the other responses these are the 10 most masculine niche fragrances I can think of. By the way, this kind of fragrance works well on any woman, especially very feminine types, who might want to lift up the assertive side their persona with a masculine contrasting element. It's like adding a black leather biker jacket or a kick ass tattoo onto your self that comes off at the end of the day.

1. Dior Leather Oud
2. Parfum d' Habit
3. Mazzolari Lui
4. Lonestar Memoires
5. Patchouli 24
6. SMN Nostalgia
7. Slumberhouse Vikt
8. Mona di Orio Cuir
9. Knize Ten
10. Or Black
